Christmas Tree Treasures

Morning Glory is hosting a fun picture linky today called Christmas Tree Treasures to let us have a peek at your Christmas tree ornaments.

"You are invited to post as many photos as you want, of the special ornaments that you hang on your tree each year. Share with us why they are special to you. Maybe they are family heirlooms, things your children made you or you had as a child, or special theme collections -- whatever it is that you put on your tree that brings you pleasure each year as you decorate it. "

Please join us and share your favorites.

Here's a few that I love to hang, although these do not cover everything.

I started collecting snowmen ornaments quite a few years back. My mom gave me this one. It's one from my childhood that hung on our tree then. It's older than I am and would be considered antique. Hmmm, does that mean I'm an antique too? Anyway, I just love him.

I also love pinecone ornaments and this, too, my mom gave me from my childhood. So it's also antique. This is the biggest one and then I've got a gold one, a blue one, and an aqua colored one that are a bit smaller.

This is the one I got for Dave and I when we were first married. And the snowman is one from my kid's ornaments. I get them each one every year. There is no theme or rhyme or reason for their ornaments, it's whatever strikes my fancy for them. They each got one of these cloth snowmen, each is a different color and silver threads make it look like snow glistening when the lights are on it. I'm sad now that I didn't get myself one because I just love these little guys!

These next four snowmen are special because my sister got them for me as a gift one year.

My son got me a couple of these snowpeople one year for Christmas out of his little allowance. You know that's gotta mean it's ultra special!

These two little angels I love. The crystal one I have no idea where she came from. She just appearead one year. The country angel was one I helped to cut and paint her dress for a lady who hired me to do that for her one year for her craft business.

There is my tree. Not a designer tree by an long shot but it's my memory tree. It's got my kid's ornaments all over it and little memory ones, and I wouldn't trade it for a "perfect" tree. In fact looking at it in the picture, it seems sorta empty although in "real life" it looks really full. Hmmm, I think I need to go get more snowmen or something. :v)

These are all lovely Susanne! I love snowmen too (not sure why since I'm not big on snow) but I don't have many snowman ornaments just decorations. Your tree is beautiful.

We need to pull out our Christmas boxes. We keep saying we're going to and we just haven't had the time. (It does't help that Pastormac has his hand in a cast.) I want to post my favorite ornaments!

HI! I am following the ornament tour! Your tree is just lovely! AND my middle name is the same as your first name and spelled exactly the same way! How cool!! I've only known one other person with Susanne spelled the same way! Now I know 2!!

Merry Christmas and thanks for playing my Mom's show and tell game!!

I love your snowmen, Susanne. Krissy collects snowman ornaments and it's always fun to add to her collection each year. I have the sweetest snowman Bev sent me years ago. He's not an ornament but sits on a table. I really should post a photo of him, he's so sweet.

Your tree is beautiful. I have no use whatsoever for designer trees. Christmas trees should be completely covered in memories of special people and special moments and yours is, from top to bottom. Beautiful.

Beautiful ornaments. I'm with you; I'd much rather have my "momentous" tree than a designer tree. Maybe someday down the road I'll try to have both.

Mine is up, too!

Susanne, I love your tree. The memories far outshine a designer theme any year. When I changed the direction of my tree a couple years ago, it was to bring it around to a more homey and homemade look, including all the preschool and "antique" ornaments we've accumulated over the years.

Your tree is beautiful and perfectly "full" of love.

These are such pretty ornaments! The snowmen are great-especially that "antique"!
I love how so many of our ornaments tell a story. I didn't do this tour since we don't get our tree quite this early, but have loved seeing all the treasures!

Very pretty. My tree's been needing something, since my husband convinced me to switch to colored lights and different ornaments. I think it's a red ribbon garland!!! Thanks for sharing and I love those snowmen ornaments!

This is my first visit here. I enjoyed all of your snowmen - I have quite a few on my tree as well, also lots of angels. I have lots of ornaments that I have no idea where they came from, but I love them.

Come by and visit - I finally got mine up. I had to do a birthday tribute for daughter and DIL on Friday.

Just like, (fill in the blank with some country singer's name) was country before country was cool, you and I were collecting snowmen before it was cool! Love those snowmen!

What sweet treasures. I especially love the cloth snowman and the ornament from your son.

We just got our tree up Saturday and I just got my pictures up this afternoon. This was such a neat idea -- I'm so glad Morning Glory thought ot it!
