Feeding the (so-called) Addiction

Did I ever mention I love coffee? If you've read this site for any length of time, I'm sure you've picked up on the fact due to subtle hints and suggestions that I do have a slight penchant for the lucious brown liquid. Well, if you are like me in your addiction enjoyment of this beverage let me show you what I found!

President's Choice Smokin' Stampede BBQ Sauce. It's says it's a Beer and Chipotle BBQ sauce but guess what?! It's got coffee!! Yup, you read right! One of the ingrediants is coffee. And it's an award winning sauce. How could it be any less with that secret ingrediant, may I ask!

Now unfortunately, my friends, this is a Canadian brand. Sorry my friends from the States. This is from the North! A notch in the great Canadian belt of fine foods, uniquely Canadian. Right up there with Tim Horton's, Canadian maple syrup, E.D. Smith jams & jellies, and Bernard Callebaut Chocolates. But I think you can order it here. I think they might ship to the States, if you really want to feed your "enjoyment".

This has got me thinking now. What other stuff is out there with that brown gold as an ingrediant? Here is a Salsa Recipe. Apparently according to the author of this recipe: "I always use a tablespoon or two of black coffee in any dish or sauce I make that has any type of Chili (Hot) Pepper. From what I understand black coffee has an antioxidant that enhances the natural flavor of the Chili's. It does not intensify the heat though. I have made dishes with Chili's before and left out the coffee. I could notice the difference. I suppose it really comes down to a matter of taste. You really can not taste the coffee at all by the time the cooking is complete."

There you go. Don't ever say that all you get is fluff at my site. I have just educated you on another use for coffee. What would you do without me?

Yum! I like different sauces. Anything that enhances peppers works for my husband and me.

I've also heard of a coffee roast that can be done in the crockpot. I've never tried it myself though. I think I would enjoy it, but I'm scared to go for it with as sensitive as the rest of my family is to the taste of coffee. They do NOT like it. So, I'm afraid to "waste" a perfectly good roast in an attempt to go for it.

Okay, momrn2, you've got to share the crockpot coffee roast recipe. Don't you hold out on us who need to have, I mean, enjoy anything with said beverage in it. Maybe post it Thursday for Diary of a Stay At Home Mom's Slow Cooker Thursday?

As soon as I drink coffee, I feel like I have to rush and brush the teeth. I have spent $ on Crest white strips. It's a pain, but the specialtie coffeess are worth it.

So, you drink the stuff and...it's that good?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Goodness. No one would ever think this is a fluffy site. I totally appreciate the deep, deep stuff you share with us. :-)

Anything with coffee in it is a winner. It's amazing the things you can put coffee in. Of course the best thing to put coffee into is ME. And lots of it. :-)

Fluffy? No way!
