Fall is in the Air

*UPDATE: at bottom, scroll on down

It's definitely fall around here. We've been getting wet, cold, foggy weather. Yesterday was very windy. My trees in the backyard have been kissed by the below freezing nights last week and I have a wall of gold running across my back yard. It's just beautiful. This particular day the cold foggy morning turned into a beautiful sunny fall day.

The kids love it when these trees drop their leaves. I'm telling you they get a huge pile to jump in! Before I had these trees the back yard was bare and I would go out front to the boulevard trees and to the neighbor's front yard
and collect leaves by the wheel barrel and bucket full and bring them to the back. Did I ever say I love fallen leaves? The crunch, the sight, the smell. Heaven!

This is a pic of the foggy mornings the kids were heading to the bus stop in. The cold, wet weather has made me get a bit of a hankering for some baking. I'm not much of a baker. Love to cook, not so into the baking. Don't get me wrong. I love to eat the baking, but don't enjoy the baking of it. So if I get any kind of compulsion to bake I go for it. Last night I made Pumpkin Bundt Cake and we enjoyed it with nice hot mugs of hot chocolate and whipped creme on both. MMMMM! And yes, my fitness buddy, you know who you are, I had a slim piece with oh so little whipped creme on it and no hot chocolate. Promise!

Now to wrap up my love of fall, the next pictures were taken by my Tweenie Girl. She loves photography and would like to be a photographer. She's always got camera in hand looking for what would make a cool picture. Personally, I'd buy her stuff! :v)

Is that the yellow brick road in my backyard?

Take a look at that pile! And that's only 1/2 of them that the wind blew off! What fun the kids had for hours in here. And the smell as I raked them. Heaven, I tell you, heaven. I wish I could somehow make a wonderful candle out of that scent. Oh and the feast for the eyes. All that gold in one big pile. The picture doesn't do it justice to how gold it really was! And the warm sun on my back as I raked and the cool, crisp air to keep me cool. It just can't get better than that! How God must love us to give us treats to the senses like this! Did I mention I love Fall?

Beautiful pictures! We're pretty bleak around here right now.
I LOVE baking! I just made a big batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins this morning, weirdly enough. Must be a pumpkin sorta day.

Those trees are still gorgeous, no matter the time of year. I'm loving the baking, and unfortunately, I'm loving the eating too.

Beautiful pictures. Our fall here has seemed unusually beautiful as well.

Now they are talking snow showers on Monday. *groan*. I don't mind snow... it's just that it's still October! *sigh*

Fall is a lovely time, definitely!

These are great pictures! That foggy one is sometthing. Your daugther is very talented. Love that one with the leaves on green grass. We have many many trees in our yard so have tons of leaves in the fall.

I think you'll need to be posting your recipe for Pumpking Bundt Cake! That just sounds too yummy not to try!

I tagged you for a meme if you're interested.

I really enoyed your pictures. Canada looks beautiful. My parents live up in Northern NJ and travel to Canada a few times a year and they think it is the most beautiful place. We are still hot here in Hawaii. In fact very hot. Not like Hawaii at all. Usually we get cool mornings and 70's in the afternoons, but we are going up to the 80's still. I miss Fall especially when this happens. I don't know when I will ever get to see fall again, but I hope someday.

Those leaves in your yard look like a kid's wonderland. I can just picture them playing in them. And your daughter's photos are really good! She's very talented. I love the leaf photos but that photo of the trees shot at that angle is really beautiful.

What a nice post.

Oh, I love these pictures! :D Gorgeous!
(And your tweeniegirl takes beautiful, artistic photos, too!)

I'm the opposite...love to bake, hate to cook! ;) But it was a soup day...I made a big batch in my crock pot. Too bad both my children won't come near it...it honestly is good, but they are SO picky! Maybe some day...:)

I love your zeal for Fall. I'd have to agree with you for all of it. I love it too, but it's been a very rainy sort of depressing fall here in Chicagoland;( Your pictures made me remember all the things I love about fall!!!!

Our God is so creative to have the trees create leaves for only a season and then to let them turn a brillant color and then fall. What a Glorious God He is!

OK, I echo the sentiments about the pictures above. Very beautfiul. However, unless I missed it, not ONE person mentioned your past habit of gathering other people's leaves and hauling in them in for your kids to play in! Did I read that right? This is too funny! Think of how many people fight having those in their yards, and here you were hauling them in!

We spent our afternoon raking leaves, nobody to jump in them; I think if anyone had my husband would have had their heads! I like them better when theyre still attached to the trees than when theyre on our lawn.
