Thursday Thirteen ~ More books to read

Well, I just knew this was going to happen. It's exactly why I only listed 5 books in my fall reading challenge. As I saw what others were listing I just couldn't resist. Another list started forming and I am way beyond what I can read by December. So I'll call it my library list. I'll only list the top 13 that caught my eye but I've got to tell you that there are actually 24 on this list! Almost enough for a whole other TT list!

13 Books Added to My Library Short List

1. Smart Women Keep It Simple by Annie Chapman

2. Winter Birds by Jamie Langston Turner

3. One Year Off by David Elliott Cohen

4. Painted Shadow: The Life of Vivienne Eliot by Carol Seymore-Jones

5. Ever After by Wendy Loggia

6. the Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

7. The Beast That God Has Kissed-Songs from Birch Lake Road by Charlie Smith

8. Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado

9. The Character & Greatnes of Winston Churchill by Stephen Mansfield

10. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

11. The Bishop's Daughter by Wanda Brunstetter

12. The 10 Commandments of Marriage by Ed Young

13. Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller

Yoy. Happy Reading to Me! If you haven't yet joined the challenge or you would like to get ideas for more to add to your own list you can visit Katrina here.

Oooh, more good books but I'll have to add to my list after I actually finish 1 or 2. So many books so little time!

I'm curious about Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado. He is one of my favorite authors. I may need to see if that's available in my library system.

Are you reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time? If so, lucky you! I wish I could come to it with new eyes, as it were - and it would be a fun book to read with your teenage daughter, too!
Hmm... some familiar names on there! :)

Thanks for your list, mine has so many and I think it won't be able to finish by December. I will try for sure.

You named either books I want to read...or books that I have read! Love it!
And...Pride and Prejudice and Blue Like Jazz were books we just read this year at my book club! I wouldn't have normally picked up the latter, but was pleasently surprised! (And it takes place mostly near my city!)

Also, Cure for the Common Life is one I want to read but forgot to list on mine! :D
I don't know if it's on your "longer list" but I highly recommend "Dinner with a Perfect Stranger" as well!

Happy reading Katrina!

Start with Blue Like Jazz. It's a fantabulous book!

Of course P & P is one of my faves too.

I had my hands on The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom AND the sequel, Tramp For The Lord: The Years After The Hiding Place just a few days ago. I put them back and chose a couple of books of devotions and Robin McGraw's book instead.

Man. I'm going back to get Corrie's two books.

You crack me up. My original list was five books and I've bought three more since then. So I guess I'm doing the same thing you are, just adding more and more books.

:-)

I have Tramp for the Lord, but have not read The Hiding Place- have always meant to at some point. I am actually reading "The Age of Sacred Terror" right now. Not a light read, but good.

Can I confess that I have started a "back-up pile" for if/when I finish my initial list? And my wish list beyond that is a mile long.

But now you have me curious about the other 11!! Couldn't it be the Thursday 24, just for today?

I've really been wanting to read the Wanda Brunstetter books too. They'll make my next list!

#6,8,10 &13 I've either heard of or read. The others are all brand new to me! That's not good, just means more books to check out. Like you, I need to call it my libary. That would be more accurate.
