RIP

It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news:

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma
complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was
buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay
their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California
Raisins, Betty Crocker, and Captain Crunch. The grave
site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man
who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with
turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough
on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old
man and was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and
Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father,
Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion
and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who
kneads it.

*Couldn't resist. I don't usually put up things sent by email but this was too good to resist.

Oh, I'm so happy that I didn't put it up! It would be like our showing up a fancy function in the same dress. =)

I was shocked to read this at first; I thought it was real - no more doughboy! Then I realized it was a joke! But my sister always loved the little doughboy and we've all gotten her doughboy gifts over the years, so he holds a special place in our hearts!

Sob! My husband's favorite t-shirt has the Doughboy and "Poke Me and Die" written on it. It was a subtle hint from his brother that perhaps beloved husband should lose some weight...

Well that's just the saddest obituary I've ever read. I'm crushed. :-)

I got a kick out of your comment on my daughter's one on the tooth fairy so I poped in & read this & got a laugh out of it. It was quite considerate of that tooth fairy to call & let you know she had to postpone comming until the next day.

tee hee - that is funny.

I agree that it is so great the churches are doing alternative activities - it is such great outreach and we had a great time last year.
