Name Game at Barb's

Barb at A Chelsea Morning really, really wants to know. What is it she is so curious about? She would like to know how we came up with the name for our sites. What inspired us to name it what we did?

Well, Barb, mine is not too exciting a story. I was really struggling with a name. I really had no idea what to call it. I tossed several ideas around but nothing was sitting right. And I was starting to feel the pressure of being someone who has a hard time making a decision when I have to decide something like this. The more I dwell on it, the more I drive myself crazy with indecision.

Then one day I read somewhere, I can't even remember what I was reading, but it had the words "live to tell God's story" or something close to that. In that instant the name, "Living to tell the Story" just came to me and I knew that was it. It's a bit of a play on words in that I'm telling my story as it daily unfolds but intertwined with that is the story of how the Lord God has entered my life and picked me up and made me His own. It's my daily story with the touch of God in it. He has saved me and delivered me and changed my life so that my focus has changed so that I'm no longer living just for me to tell about me, but living to tell His story of His great love for mankind and touch on my life.

So that's it. My hope when you come here is that you see the Lord's story interwoven in my story and that you are encouraged and uplifted and filled with hope that if God can touch my little life He can also touch yours.

Looking forward to hearing how you all came up with your names. Post it and the head over to Barb's to leave your link.

Oh hooray! Blogger's going to let me leave a comment - finally.

It's funny how the name just sort of hits you all of a sudden. And I actually think your story IS exciting. I've been reading everything you post for a while now and you are definitely living to tell the story. So the name of your blog is absolutely perfect. It' what you do and you know what? You do it very well.

Isn't this what it's all about? LIVING ~ in HIM to tell our story entwined with his.

I love it, it reminds me of the old hymn, "I love to tell the story, 'twill be my theme in glory, to tell the old, old story
of Jesus and his love"

Thanks for sharing about the name of your blog!

I really really like your name (and your caricature too). Your blog name reminds me of Paul, "To live if Christ..." verse in Philippians.

I always look forward to reading your comments - when I see your little picture I always smile.
