We've been spoiled too long this year. We knew it had to come sometime. I mean, this is Southern Alberta and all. No getting away from it. And arrive it did. With a vengence.
Old man winter came a knocking in the middle of the night, howling and scowling and making his presence felt. And heard.
I knew I should have got to cleaning out the flower pots and beds last weekend. But I think I was in denial, the weather was so nice. So I was pretty giddy with happiness when a dayhome parent came bearing this gift in hand this morning:
Warm, spicy gingerbread, no less.
I think I am now ready to start my day. Let old man winter make all the stink he wants!

Oh now that was one nice surprise from that parent! Yikes it looks cold out there! We had nasty winds last night with power outages and downed trees...
We've had some gorgeous days for Nov. I think I'm in denial too. But I notice the temps are dropping around the end of the week. It probably won't be long before we're staring out at a similar scene!
Ummm, I won't tell you that I posted photos from the beach, photos of sunshine and sparkly waves, photos I took on Nov 11th. And it's sunny and 70s again today. Nope, I won't tell you.
Blessings to that mom who brought you gingerbread latte!
That was so thoughtful of that parent! No snow here -- just rain.
I SOOOO wish we had a Starbucks in my town.
Wow! What lovely dayparents you have!
I'm so jealous... not for the Starbucks but for the SNOW!! Soon enough it will be our turn here in the Midwest but I surely would love for it to come now! ; )
We are still too hot down here in east Texas. Hot one day, then cold the next and it is making us all sick. We might be wearing shorts at Christmas.
Enjoy that beautiful snow. What a lovely parent to bring you Star Bucks.
Have a great day.
We are just getting that storm now (Tuesday evening) Not the kind of weather I wanted to come home to. A nice cool 10 C would have been welcome (without wind) but THIS! Not nice.
Yep... winter is here. Colder, windy and rainy here in the midwestern states in America, too.
Now is the time to enjoy hot beverages, candles and being all cozy inside. Each season has its delights!
How thoughtful of your dayhome parent!
omgosh susanne...you got the white stuff!!!! I'm in denial too because it has just been so darn nice here since like May! my spring flowers are STILL blooming and survived our 24 hours of snow last week...lol....thatis awesome that you got a nice cup of coffee though! yay for the coffee and the dayhome parent! See you on Friday for the FFF
Wow! I would love to have Starbucks delivered to me. Only it would be cold by the time I got here...
I get giddy with excitement when Sbux comes out with their winter cup! Makes winter official. Gingerbread -- oh yum!
