Happy Friday! I hope all my American friends had a lovely Thanksgiving Day yesterday! Thanksgiving holiday rolls around once a year but here at FFF we are endeavoring to be thankful as a daily lifestyle. So join us in our pause to take note and be thankful for five blessings from the last week.
~ persimmons ~ had my first persimmon ever in my life and I am hooked. So sweet and smooth and delicious! The dayhome kids were unsure of it, but that's ok, more for me.
~ helping with the intake of boxes ~ Sunday I helped with the intake of shoebox gifts at the main drop off location. It was the last drop off day so it was a big one with several surrounding towns bringing in their boxes. It was nice to meet a lot of project leaders and others involved with organizing for their churches. I'm thankful to work alongside so many great volunteers.
~ encouragement given and received ~ At ladies bible study this week there was some really great back and forth on the topic being studied and it was great to see encouragement being given and received as some of the questions really asked us to do some soul searching. I love and am thankful that our group is a safe place to share our thoughts and our struggles and our victories knowing we will lift each other up.
~ winter tires on ~ I'm thankful for my hubby who worked hard to get my winter tires on for the season. And just in time for the snowfall we got this week.
~ evening tea ~ with the weather cooling off evening tea has been a welcome and relaxing ritual. So nice to curl up with a good book or fave tv show and that hot tea to warm up with.
What have been your favorite blessings of the last week?

I don't think I've ever had a persimmon either but you have inspired me to try one. Now I just have to find one in the local market.
ReplyDeletegreetings from Plymouth, MA !
ReplyDeleteI only have tried a persimmon once in my life and it was a long time ago when my mother in law had them at the beach house. I never see them in our NY area but I'm glad you liked it! I need to look at Whole Foods to see if they sell them because my local food market where i do the weekly shopping never has them .
I love when my small group of ladies gets in to a good soul searching study and glad you had that this week.
YAY for relaxing with tea in the evening and a good book. I'm into Vermont Maple Ginger currently and it's very warming on a chilly night.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
My favorite blessing of the week was Thanksgiving Day. My son, d-i-l, and grandson were originally planning to go on a trip this week, but canceled because my heart is acting up. I hated for them to cancel their plans on my account but was so glad to have them with us.
ReplyDeleteI have never had a persimmon, either. I'm glad you liked them!
Glad you had help with the OCC boxes and got to meet others involved with them. It's great when the Bible study group is so encouraging and uplifting. It was good of your husband to get your winter tires on.
It's been ages since I had a persimmon. Sounds like a good productive week. We got our first little bit of snow here. Excited to move into the season of Advent!
ReplyDeleteAs I am writing this, the sky is flicking bits of snow at us. I am glad you have your winter snow tires on.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, it has been a long time since I tasted a persimmon. I'm glad you like them!
And the evening tea is a great option for a relaxing evening. What's your favorite these nights?
Our neighbor as a persimmon tree and gives us some every year. She even made persimmon bread for our Lifegroup Friendsgiving. We don't get snow in my city. I did not know you had the change tires for the snow season.
ReplyDeleteI had never eaten persimmons until I married Rick, for him it was a fruit like for us an apple, so I ate it quite often, I love it. We have no snow but it is rather cold and humid. Everywhere Christmas decoration show up ! A bit early for me.
ReplyDeleteWell well, glad to know you enjoy persimmons! The ones pictured look like the hachiya varieties that have a narrow fully-ripe-and-edible window. Most of my family and friends grow the fuyu variety (more pumpkin/tomato shaped, firmer flesh).
ReplyDeleteHow fun to join with other OCC volunteers from the surrounding area. Those Bible study relationships can be so encouraging.
Wait, wait, you didn't share your latest favorite tea flavor!
LOL. I had a very delicious Peach Tranquility by Teavana that I have been enjoying. My friend got me a David's Tea advent calendar so I'll be starting that today!
DeleteI don't think I've ever had a persimmon or if we even get them here. Sounds like a good week with the study group and the volunteering. Glad you got your tires swapped, winter is definitely here.
