Friday's Fave Five #668

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five.  Intentionally pausing this busy life to notice the blessings God has sent my way over the past week.  Won't you join in?

In no particular order:

~ spicy dill almonds ~  saw these at Costco and made an impulse buy.  Oh my my.  If you like spicy, these are delicious!  And addictive.

~ special ice cream time with a special girl ~ my special little friend who graduated out of my dayhome for kindergarten has really been missing me so we went for a little date night for ice cream this week.  What fun to have her company once again.  I really miss that girl and it was wonderful spending an hour with her.

~ scrolling thru the OCC pictures and reliving the memories ~ I was looking for something in my pictures and came across the file that has ALL the pics that everyone from my Operation Christmas Child Costa Rica team shared with each other.  I got so lost in reliving all the wonderful memories of that week spent playing with the children of Costa Rica, giving them their gifts and being able to share the gospel.

~ Just Breathe Scentsy ~ this week I've had this scent in the wax melter and it's really helped to make breathing through my stuffy nose so much better.  I forgot I had it as I'd packed the melter away for reasons unknown.  It's not a strong scent, just make the air seem fresh and easy to breath.

~ music cd's my hubby makes for me ~ hubby blessed me with some music cd's he made of my favorite songs for the car and I've been enjoying them all week.

What have been your favorite blessings this week?

  1. That's nice that the young girl wanted to meet you ! That's a real compliment !I also spend often time to look through my old travel pictures, because in the moment with this ugly weather, today for a change there is mist but such a lot that I can't see the houses behind the trees !

  2. I love that you had an ice cream date with a former daycare child! how special!! must be the week for it. I too visited a student I had the last TWO years in my special ed prek Class and language group. I had to give him some art work he left behind from an exhibit at the mall. Susanne, his whole face lit up when I showed up at his home (he lives about 3 miles from me...same town....). His mom allowed a photo for FB so it's on there but I forgot to ask permission to post to the blog so......but it definitely made me thankful this week for seeing growth in former beloved students :)

LOVE that you found your good breathing scent again.....I'm using a nice cinnamon cranberry candle in the evenings...it's just the perfect light scent and makes my house smell heavenly.

I hope you have a good weekend!!

  3. Hi Susanne. Yes, I would LOVE those dill pickle Almonds and would probably eat the whole bag in a sitting. They sound good! So glad you were able to spend time with one of your little Day Home friends. That is so nice of your hubby to make music CDs for you to enjoy. It is so great that you have those wonderful pictures that bring back memories of helping with Operation Christmas Child. We love OCC in our house and always look forward to making up the boxes. Even my husband gets involved! Thanks for sharing your favorites and hosting this every week. Have a lovely weekend and stay warm!

  6. How thoughtful of your hubby to make the CDs. Those are the gestures that mean so much. So kind of you to take your Day Home friend for ice cream, and how sweet that she missed you! It sounds like you had a special bond.

It's funny, but we went to Costa Rica for a vacation years ago. When I read about your experience there, I can feel how special it must have been. I think you had the better visit:)

  7. Your little graphic at the end reminds me that God is always working and it's more than the miraculous things. Blessings like these are so sweet. Ice cream time with a little friend especially.

I'm sure you'll treasure those OCC memories forever. How wonderful to have lots of photos.

  8. Children don't realize sometimes that their teachers and caregivers also miss them. I'm glad you had an opportunity to spend some time with your little friend.
Isn't it wonderful to have those photos to bring back the memories so vividly? Easily accessible pictures are a blessing we sometimes don't think about.
    Have a great weekend!

  9. Missed out on taking part this week but trying to catch up on the posts now. You can happily have my share of the almonds. Nuts (and yes I know almonds aren't nuts) are not my thing. How nice to meet up with one of your former home care children and how thoughtful of hubby to make you CDs. I love looking through photos.
