Simple Woman's Daybook March 4,2013

Joining others in journaling at the Simple Woman's Daybook.

Outside my window it is a white, white world once again.  After some really nice warmer days, albeit windy, after a day of 14*C (58*F), Sunday we were socked in with a crazy blizzard with insane wind and blowing snow.  City and Highways closed and lots of shovelling heavy, wet snow Monday morning for hubby.  Another night of snow is forecast and then back to a warm weekend..  Welcome to Southern Alberta weather transitioning from winter to spring.

I am thinking this weather is making me lazy.  All I want to do is curl up under a cozy blanket with a hot cup of coffee and my book.  Alas, I'm also thinking the dayhome kidlets would not like that.

I am thankful I didn't have to go out anywhere in the blizzard Sunday.  We got home from church before it hit, dinner was ready to roll, and we had plans for an afternoon of reading and movies.  So we were all tucked in for the day.

In the kitchen comfort foods are definitely going to be on the list.  Probably a stew, chicken and pasta t, Hungarian goulash and brocolli cheese soup are sounding good.

Around the house the oven needs wiping out and running the self clean yesterday.  The playroom needs a major cleaning and the laundry, once again, is needing doing.  My bedroom could use a major cleaning too but that will have to wait.

I am creating plans for St. Patrick's Day and Easter crafts for dayhome.

I am looking forward to the start of Breaking Free, the Beth Moore bible study for the ladies starting at church tonight.

I am hoping my Oldest Daughter and my Boy will be home for Easter.  We had to do Christmas without my Boy.  I'm hoping that will not be a repeat at Easter!

I am reading "Strengthen Yourself in the Lord" by Bill Johnson and "The Mountain Between Us" by Charles Martin.  Both are linked in the sidebar

I am learning how important it is to keep ourselves continually built up in the Lord so that when trials do come we can meet the challenge head on with faith

One of my favorite things is hot drinks on cold, blizzardy days

A favorite quote for today:
"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is fruit;
Wisdom is not putting it into a fruit salad"
Author Unknown

A few plans for the rest of the week:  dental appt., watch The Bible on History Channel (created by Mark Burnett of "Survivor" and "the Voice" fame), haircut definitely.

A peek into my day

March peeked in like a lamb and a few days in roared like mad lion.

  3. We had snow here in TN yesterday, but thankfully it didn't seem to stay on the roads much. It's almost all melted away already.

We've had to get used to not having our oldest for Easter, but since he comes on his birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, I guess I can't complain. Hope yours all get to come!

  4. Hmmm... your "around the house" sounds rather a lot like mine. Only in paperwork -- these things multiply when you're not looking! Here's to hoping your kids are home for your family Easter celebrations. We're getting a smidge of rain and it doesn't look ANYTHING like your roaring crazy white brrrrr weather!
