Friday's Fave Five #118

Welcome to Friday's Fave Fives!  Wow, during this busy, busy season I've really needed this exercise in looking at my blessings over the week.  They can so easily get buried in the busy and the "to do".  And there is lots to do!  So take a few moments with me and look back over your week and find those things that gave you joy, that gave you peace, that blessed you.  If you are new, take a peek here first for the guidelines, then just join in.

1.  Snatches of time here and there throughout the day to just catch my breath, to slow down, to refocus.  I'm thankful that in my day there are pockets of a few minutes here and there where I can take a deep breath before I go charging on again.

2.  Baby funnies.  Oh the cute and funny things a 16 month old and a 20 month do.  These two little ones in my dayhome crack me right up.  Special gifts of laughter given to me.

3.  Christmas shopping done!  And most of it wrapped.  Yipee!

4.  The smell of baking in the house.  Baking is not my forte but I do like to do a bit a Christmas.  So the wonderful smells have been wafting through the house this last week.  I've made gingerbread cookies, shortbread cookies, chocolate mint crackle cookies and spiced nuts.  It smells yummy in here.

5.  A nice comfy bed.  Haven't been feeling well this week and my bed has felt especially good when I finally get to it at night.

What has been your favorites this week?  Please join in and sign on to Mr. Linky and then take a moment and visit around.

Also, just a note, I will have Fave Five's up next week, but being Christmas I know everyone will be busy, busy, busy.  If you have a moment to look back over your week and do a post, please sign on, and if not, then have a very Merry & Blessed Christmas with your family and friends.

How I relate to that pervasive busyness. I'm thankful to have FFF as a reminder to stop and count the blessings. Congrats on getting your shopping done and nearly done wrapping -- and baking, too!

Can't believe I'm awake late enough to sign in so early. LOL! I'm heading right to my comfy bed Susanne! Shopping and wrapping almost done ~ good for you! Blessings on your Christmas and all your loved ones!

Good to catch you late at night. Then I can sleep in my comfy bed longer in the morning...I can smell the baking from here.
Let's make a switch...you wrap for me and I'll bake for you.

It had snowed so I loved to stay in my bed and read ! I am waiting for the moment my little grandson has this age where they become funny as you say. Today he is just one months old !

A comfy bed is what I enjoyed here today too. It's been cooler than usual. Maybe some of the icy winds in the western hemisphere is blown our way. I love hanging out in a house that smells of baking :)

We're very similar. :)

I love my bed too, and I'm too jealous that you're almost all wrapped. I have nothing wrapped. Nothing. *sigh*

The 2 month old I watch brings me great joy, there are aspects of my job I enjoy a lot.

I've done a little bit of shopping for my gifts already, but what I'm really looking forward to is my little trip to London with my daughter on Monday and Tuesday. If I have time I'll be back next week to share some of the pictures I'm planning to take there!

PS feel better soon Susanne, it's not fun to be ill on Christmas!

Comfy bed is always great. I love mine and always hate when I have to get out of it. It is my favorite spot in the house to read when I get a chance.

yup...relating to the busy-ness of the season...but I too have a few moments in my day that I actually PLAN to catch my breath, focus on Christ, and remember the real meaning as to why we do all that we do! You are waaaayyy ahead of me in the baking dept! My youngest and I are planning a baking marathon tomorrow....I love my bed too!

Yes, baking at this time of year is a bonus. Another bonus is getting your shopping done and wrapped.

Your five are all great and I'm wishing you a happy Christmas in the event I'm not out next week. Take care and I hope your feeling better.

Most of it WRAPPED? You put me to shame, Susanne!

I love baby funnies, too. Looking forward to some as I see the grandson, Aiden.

Hope you feel better this week. Have a blessed Christmas!

I managed to get my fff up - the only post this week! Good for you getting your shopping and wrapping done - you're ahead of me.

Chocolate mint crackle cookies sound so yummy! I've never had them.

Love baby cuteness - I have some toddler cuteness in my post this week!

I hope you're feeling better soon Suzanne - it's not fun to be feeling sick around Christmas time especially.

Love and thanks for hosting!

Ooh I love baby funnies too! Cherising those funny moments, to me, is one of the most special parts of parenting.

You are ahead of me, I'm almost done shopping, but haven't started wrapping!

I love my bed too--especially when it's cold and I pile on the blankets. Sorry you haven't been feeling well. :(

You're a bit ahead of me in the shopping department! I'm pretty near done, but I haven't wrapped a thing yet. Hopefully this weekend -- my hiding places are overflowing!

My daughter-in-law works at a day care and shares funny baby stories when she comes home.

I haven't done any of my usual Christmas baking yet -- hopefully next week!

Hope you feel better soon!

It is so lovely when you are aware of all of your blessings. Little children say and do the cutest things.

I hope you recover from not feeling well 'cause I know you have a lot to do.

I crashed last night before doing FFF, and I certainly know the busyness of the season. Deep breath. Focus on blessings. Post fave fives. OK, it's all good! Thanks for hosting us every week.

I agree--comfy beds, funny babies! Two of the best little blessings.

Yea for pockets of time. We have to take what we can get sometimes. Isn’t it a great feeling to be done with Christmas shopping? I think I’m finished too. Hope you feel better this coming week!

Thanks so much for hosting this meme. I have enjoyed and profited by thinking on my Friday's Fave Five. I have also enjoyed reading other's list and have added a few new blogs to my daily read.

Have a blessed Christmas.

I love my job because it means I get to eat lunch without a 2yo, hehe but I also love eating lunch and reading your blog!

I've also just got wrapping left to do. Except for the little things we need to pick up today for the youth group party tomorrow.

I've also been doing some baking here myself. YUM!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!
