It's Friday and that means it Friday's Fave Five! Join us as we look back over the week and find our five favorite things, be they activities, foods, quotes, etc. Anything that blessed you over the last seven days.
1. Spring decorating. Away goes the penguin and the snowglobe, the cardinal sitting on the snowy log and the dark colored or heavier scented candles. They make way for my bird collection, light greens and fresher scents. It's a nice change. There is just a few more things I need to switch out but already things feel lighter and airier. This weekend I'll be looking for some nice springy colored or designed pillows for the couches.
2. Books arriving in the mail. I have the privilege of doing some books for review each year and half the fun of them is getting the books arrive in my mailbox. I love when I see that yellow bubble envelope in the hands of the mailman. I know. I'm weird. But it really does make me happy. And it's my list. ;v)
3. A surprise coffee hand delivered. One of my dayhome parents stops each morning at her neighborhood Tim Horton's and every once in awhile she shows up with a coffee in hand for me too. It really makes me feel appreciated. And this week was a bonus because it's the famous Roll Up the Rim to Win and I won another coffee. The Rav4 would have been nice as would the $10,000 prize but I'll take another free coffee too!
4. Jumbo peanut butter cookies that I didn't have to bake myself. If you read here, you know cooking I love, but baking? Well, not so much. Although I do like to eat it. And my youngest girl took it upon herself to bake some cookies. They sure tasted good!
5. Living close to a community lake. I love that I am within walking distance to a really lovely community lake and park. I love to go for walks there with my camera ready or just go to sit in the park with a good book when the weather is nice. Hubby and I like to go bike riding around it too when we have the chance.
What were your faves this week? If you do a post, link on up!

I'm with you on the books arriving in the mail! It's like Christmas each and every time for me!
ANd YUMMY peanut butter cookies!
Have a great weekend!
I've been doing a little spring decorating too... e.g. a new bowl as a centerpiece for the diningroom table. And fresh tulips in a vase.
Like you, I love getting books in the mail... used from amazon.com. A treat!
Enjoy your weekend, Suzanne!
Blessings, e-Mom
The bird decor sounds so springy~ I'm envisioning lots of bright green and white. I'm not a peanut butter cookie lover, but you know the saying, "More for you!" Like you, I love getting special packages in the mail-I hope we never quit sending 'snailmail'. Have happy coffee and blessing filled weekend and maybe a walk around that gorgeous lake!
I got rid of my Winter decoration as well! Good coffee, ( free coffee must taste even better!) a good read, something sweet to feast on, this week it looks like we have parallel lives! Have a great weekend Susanne!
I also love getting books in the mail. Living close to a lake sounds wonderful.
Have a blessed weekend!
Roll Up The Rim adds a little sparkle to coffee drinking doesn't it. SOmeone won 10,000 at our favourite Tim's last week. I got a donut which is also good :) maybe not quite as good but hey - last year I didn't win a thing.
I love anything in the mail - and email - and comments on my blog. just plain fun :)
Hope you have some time this weekend to enjoy those books - with warm temperatures and some sitting around the lake.
Thanks for hosting Suzanne - this is a blogging highlight!
Yum!!! Peanut butter cookies are the bomb! (aka, delicious!)
Oh coffee and cookies oh and books! great week! Have a nice weekend
Books arriving by mail would be a fave of mine too if it happened to my lifestyle nowadays. I wish it could, but well, maybe one day. The lake and the acitivities you do around just sound so wonderful!
Most of my decorating is pretty springy as it is, but one little snowman escaped notice after Christmas -- and it's time for him to go!
I love receiving books in the mail. And a surprise gift of coffee is sweet -- and winning another one a treat!
Speaking of treats, those cookies sound great.
I would love to live near a lake.
yeah! spring, spring SPRING! Don'tcha just LUV living near a park??! Luv it, LUV IT!!
Have a great weekend ahead, my friend!
It is so nice to start Spring decorating with fresh colors. You and Rachel Ray have a thing about baking :0) She loves to cook, too. Packages in the mail instead of bills...pretty cool. Have a wonderful weekend Susanne...
Ohhhhhh how I would LOVE to live in walking distance of a lake! When I was child I lived in walking distance of a lake with ducks and sailboats and a pier. It was WONDERFUL. We also had a pond for ice skating in the winter! I would like to live near ANY water! This morning it's rainy and I have puddles in the front yard. That works too! :)
That is a great Mom who brings her daycare provider coffee! I'm certain you ARE well appreciated! I always loved the women who took care of my children! You HAVE to. It won't work otherwise! :)
YAY for your baby makin' peanut butter cookies! What a treat!
How lovely to begin the Spring redecorating and to receive books and coffee in the mail! I understand living near water ... I'm grateful to live close enough to walk along the Pacific Ocean daily.
Hugs and blessings,
What a good idea, I'll get out my spring decorations and put away my snow men. Books always make me smile! Tim Horton....you must live in Canada. Our daughter lives in Saskatoon so we are very familiar with Tim's. Just your enthusiasm made my day better. Thanks
What a wonderful week - free coffee, books and cookies. Oh so lucky!!
Happy to hear that you are ready for Spring.
I'm ready for some spring deocrating, too.
Sounds like you are really blessed to live so close to the lake. I'm not jealous ... well, maybe a little. :)
You are ahead of me on the Spring decorating switch. We are still in flannel sheets on our bed, even. I do have to drool over the thought of the Tim Horton coffee. That's one thing we both miss about our trips to Canada. We loved stopping at Tim Horton shops on the road.
Great. Now I'm in the mood for peanut butter cookies.
Not much can beat a good package in the mail! I love that, too. But now that I've bought a Kindle, that might change a little...I haven't thought of it that way; I'll miss my packages...
Cookies sound great. Time for me to go eat!
I love getting books in the mail and those peanut butter cookies sound delicious. I may have to make some this weekend!
Thanks for hosting Susanne! I wish I had a lake within walking distance. In fact, I wish I lived on a lake or a river. It is so peaceful to sit by a body of water and reflect. Have another great week!
Good afternoon Susanne, thanks for being our favorite host for today's meme..spring is in the air.. I can tell because of my bronchitis acting up from the pollen count..my post is ready after a late start..
Have a good day. hugs, Baba
I just decorated the last 2 weeks too! I love the spring decorations and lighter candles!
My list is up and I just linked up.....come on over....
Coffee, cookies, books in the mail -- how can it get much better than that?
Oh, to have time to decorate for spring. Maybe in a week or so. I look forward to that.
Happy weekend!
I love the simplicity of your lists and really that's what it's all about is finding the simple pleasures in life and enjoying them to the fullest. Beautiful!!
A lovely list Susanne - books in the mail (I agree - happiness!), thoughtful gestures, delicious cookies and a lake close by. There is something so peaceful about sitting by a body of water.
Have a great weekend!
Books, coffee, cookie, and a lake, count me in on it!
I'm with you that the idea of a new book causes me to become almost giddy with childhood excitement. :-)
How lovely to not only be gifted with a coffee, but to get a free one in the deal.
And a walk around a lake. Lovely!
My list if finally up. Thanks for letting me come late to the party. :-)
Happy Weekend!
Great Fav's! Living close to a lake & park sounds wonderful! You will have to show us plenty of pictures of it.
Hello! I just found your site on Lovella's where you had left a comment. PEI is near and dear to my heart as my grandparents grew up there before heading west as young adults. When I was 10 my family traveled east to PEI where I celebrated my 11th birthday at the Linkletter Potato farm just outside of Summerside. These are my dad's cousins. Do you know them? I now live in Germany with my family but hope to one day take them to the island of my roots! Blessings to you!
Eileen
