Slow Cook Thursday ~ San Fransisco Pork

SAN FRANCISCO PORK

6 - 8 sirloin chops
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth (I used water & 1 cube or pkg. chicken oxo)
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. cold water
cooked rice

In a 10 inch skillet, quickly brown the pork chops on both side in hot oil. Put into slow cooker.

Add garlic to skillet and cook stirring continuously until golden. Do not let it burn. Stir in soy sauce, broth, brown sugar and red pepper flakes. Cook and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. Pour over the pork in the cooker.

Cover and cook on low 7 hours. Remove the chops, set aside. Combine the cornstarch and cold water until smooth and slowly add to crock stirring to blend with liquid in the crock. Return the chops and try to get the sauce on all the chops. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes until sauce thickens.

Serve over cooked rice.

*My family raved over this recipe. The hot pepper flakes add just a touch of bite, nothing too extreme. If you have young kids who can't stand anykind of heat, just use half the amount. You don't want to take it out totally or it won't be the same.

This looks so good-- how did you know about those lonely chops in my freezer, looking at me like, "So, what are you going to do with US?"

Blessings!

This has nothing to do with corckpots or recipes - but I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for all of your prayers and sweet comments.

It's so nice to know that we are being covered in prayer ;)

Blessings, sweet lady,
