And three months later, I cried again when they went away to college. Heck! I still get a little weepy when Mandy and Aaron visit for a couple of days and then drive away.

So you know, it's also the natural order of life that moms get very emotional when children leave and we do it over and over again.

It does get better over time, but boy, the first time they leave is HARD!Barbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13078572615133867629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-53951204811803509342008-04-15T11:41:00.000-06:002008-04-15T11:41:00.000-06:00Oh, I am sorry about the infection!! We've had two graduate, but they have lived at home for college except for one year in the dorms. It's still a step away from home, though, especially as they're gone from early morning til late at night. It's funny, when my kids were little I looked forward to the empty nest, but as the time for it grows closer, I am dreading it. As you said, I know it is natural and the Lord will take care of them, but to have someone you've had close everyday contact with and care for for 18-20 years move out of the realm of everyday contact is a loss. I have a lot to keep me busy, that's not a problem, but I can't imagine not missing them sorely.

I'd better stop before I get myself all teary......

I know mothers before us have survived and God will help us through. But it will be tough.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-79895546247753352822008-04-15T07:13:00.000-06:002008-04-15T07:13:00.000-06:00OH how did your appt go for your hand???
