LOL.

I'm sure your snowfalls are breathtaking. We get an average of one snowfall a year -- seldom more than an inch at a time. Sometimes, we'll get a couple of more snowfalls or a few light dustings if it's a hard winter. We are known to have arctic cold weather one day and shirt-sleeve weather the next. So, everyone in the state is always coughing and sneezing from the wide temperature changes. But, variety makes life fun!

I can sympathize with your daughter's desire to see both Scotland and Ireland, as I have Scots-Irish ancestry. I spent 45 minutes in an Irish airport on a stopover on my way to Italy one time. I'd love to go back and really spend some time there.

ElizabethAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-1164745411005406782006-11-28T13:23:00.000-07:002006-11-28T13:23:00.000-07:00Man, it sounds soooo cold there right now! If she ever goes to Ireland tell her to make sure and go to the West of Ireland (Cork and Kerry) - that is the most beautiful part - it is where we spend our summers (my husband is from there).....Ireland can be pretty cold and rainy at times though, so the summer months are the best.

Looking forward also Susanne to seeing your nativity set, I got mine a few weeks ago and was so pleased with it (both price and how it looks!).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-1164725450239489152006-11-28T07:50:00.000-07:002006-11-28T07:50:00.000-07:00Scott and I are Irish...and we ahve always dreamed...Scott and I are Irish...and we ahve always dreamed a vacation to Ireland with our kids for about 2 weeks....I do alot of geneology as a hobby so this would be ideal for me.

On another note...I love my nativity set also...its one of the first things I put out.

I wish we ahd snow here....its 61 today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-1164723568009866852006-11-28T07:19:00.000-07:002006-11-28T07:19:00.000-07:00My husband's family is 3/4 Irish and 1/4 Dutch - c...My husband's family is 3/4 Irish and 1/4 Dutch - complete with a very Irish last name (which you already know!) and my kids are the most Dutch-looking children you'll ever see. I guess it's not so bad if you can stay indoors but I don't envy you having to get out and go grocery shopping in temperatures like that.

It's windy, windy here today and snow is predicted for tomorrow. We've had so flurries but nothing measurable yet.

And I think it's sweet your daughter has a thing for Ireland. I'm thinking Ireland gets some pretty harsh winters, too, though.

This is your lucky day, Susanne. I've now successfully left a comment on three blogs. I can't comment on most of them, especially beta blogs, and blogger just told me it's not ready for me yet. It's still in the 60's here, though we did have a few cold days last week where it didn't get above the mid 40's, of course those days seem like summertime after reading your temps for last week!
