Keep Calm and Tulip On

Bye, bye sad little tulips that didn't open

Round 2....Looking much better!

As I thought C*stco took the other ones back, no problem.  Hubby decided he wanted to not take a chance on another bunch from there in case they were the same batch and wanted to try the other grocery store nearby, so that is what we did.  The floral attendant told us that tulips don't like flower food that you usually get with cut flowers and to add a splash of lemon juice instead.  So that is what I did and so far, so good.  I 💖 tulips!

  2. I've been told if i cut my tulips from my front flower bed to put a dribble of honey, lemon juice or sugar in the water. Glad you got a fresh new bouquet! It's the beginning of tulip season here in eastern NY and mine are coming up pretty good. I'm missing about 10 due to bunny getting to the bulbs last Oct. Gonna have to plant new ones in Oct.

  4. It was a good idea of your husband's to get tulips from a different place in case all the ones at C*stco had the same problem. That's a good tip about using lemon juice rather than the flower food that comes with bouquets. The second batch is so pretty.
