A Really, Really Hard Meme

I've been tagged for a couple of memes, both of which are going to really make me think. The first one I was tagged for by Laura at "I'm at Organizing Junkie". The Seven Things I Love About Me Meme. I gotta tell you Laura, this one is really hard for me. Thinking of one or two, okay, but coming up with seven is really, really making me stretch. And I hate tooting my own horn to boot, so that is why this one took so long to do. I'll be totally honest and admit I was totally procrastinating doing it. But here goes:

1) I love that I laugh hysterically at my own jokes. Even though my kids laugh at me laughing at my own jokes instead of laughing at the joke. And if you understand that sentence there is a prize somewhere for you.

2) I love that I have been able to stick with my job of having a dayhome for children in my home for over 17 years and still like it. And still have remained relatively sane. Although you all might debate me on that point.

3) I love that I'm pretty faithful to a fault.

4) I love that I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

AAAA, this is getting harder.

5) I love my boisterous laugh.

Uhmmm, (loooooong pause)

6) I love that when an emergency happens, I have the ability to sort of "click" out emotionally and deal with the emergency. The emotional part will hit me later after the adrenaline is gone and the emergency has been taken care of. This comes, I think, from my rehabilitation training and working with very severely disabled children.

Okay, still thinking. ahhh, hmmmm, uhmm, this would have been soooo much easier if it had been seven things I don't like about me or seven things I want to change about me or seven things on my knick knack shelf.

7) I love that for the most part I am a pretty forgiving person. It might take me a little time to get over a deep hurt but I'll come around to forgiving the person and things will be back to normal.

Whew, this was really hard for me. I'll think I'll do the other tag from Laura at My Quotidian Mysteries tomorrow. I need to go lay down and have a rest.

Now who to tag. Jenileigh from Jenileigh's Journey, Chris from Come to the Table, Gibee from Kisses of Sunshine.

Well done! I understand the part about laughing at your own jokes. Do you get those oh so telling looks from your offspring...
Blessings.

You did good! The ladies in my bible study group decided not only do we have to do this type of thing more often but we are also going to concentrate on building up each other by telling each other what we love about them. So very important!
I so understand your #1, I think I'm hilarious....lol!
You ROCK! Have a glorious day!

Awww, this just makes me wish that we could be "in person" friends all the more. Great job. I'm dying to see you laugh at your own joke.

I can see where this one would be hard to do. Like you, I don't like to toot my own horn and I'm pretty sure I'd struggle to come up with seven.

I'm exactly the same way in an emergency. I fall apart afterwards. Thank goodness!

It was fun to read all these things about you. You have no idea how much I admire you for being in the daycare business for so long. Imagine. Some of your very first little kids are grown now. I'll bet that's fun, seeing them now. But mostly, I simply admire you for your stamina. LOL

You sound like a great person. (:

Great job, Susanne! :) I haven't heard of this meme, and I would have trouble with this one, too!

Pastormac's ann took the words right out of my mouth...it makes me wish I could be able to know some of my on-line friends in person. I just wish I could drop over for some coffee and hear you laugh! :D

Oh, Susanne, isn't it awful that we feel we're tooting our own horns just cuz there are things we like about ourselves? But I understand, girl, really I do.

I LOVE #1, I laughed just reading it. And I'm right there with you on #6. I can do what I have to do, and afterwards, it hits me like a ton of bricks.

Blessings,
Julie

This would be really hard for me too! But I could say the same about me for #4 and #7. I could NOT, however, say the same for #6. I FUH-REAK OUT in emergency situations.

Those are wonderful qualities. Thanks for sharing. You should be proud of them. It's not easy to come up with things about yourself.

Why, oh why is it so hard to think about what we like about ourselves? I know just what you mean about it being hard. I loved reading this, though. And I laugh hysterically at my own jokes, too. I crack myself up on a daily basis. :)

That IS a hard meme, but I think you came up with great answers!

Well done - yes, answering the questions about what you love about yourself is not. easy. at. all.

Take your time on my tag - with the news about your viruses, you need a break! :)

What incredibly wonderful qualities. I knew I liked you for good reason! I laugh at my own jokes, too, but I am usually the only one! :0)

I laugh with you and you made me think and wonder. I also love your faith. You didn't mention that. But that is something I admire and I think you know about that already. Stay that way, don't change.
This is a good meme for self nurturing!
