I do some of that in the memes I participate in, but I need to do that more fully in separate posts.

I understand too about changing careers. It can be very exciting when God moves you into something else, but also very scary. When I came to the job I have now, I cried every day for about 3 months because I was homesick for my old job!

Just a gentle reminder, it's Friday. When we were kids we had a big German Shepherd who used to take off occasionally. Just about the time we had given up on ever seeing him again, he would come sauntering up our little country lane. Perhaps that sweet dog knows exactly where he's going and just stopped by to say hi.
Praying the Lord will give you peace and direction about your work.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14937532276250199445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-16556733498493579382009-08-20T12:34:59.643-06:002009-08-20T12:34:59.643-06:00I can totally identify, Susanne, with wanting all ...I can totally identify, Susanne, with wanting all the ducks in a row and wanting to know what's around the bend. We know our security is in the Lord and not in our circumstances -- but we sure feel better when He lets us in on it!

We had frustrations with our animal control people, too -- probably the least efficient of government branches which don't run on efficiency to begin with. In our city dogs are supposed to be behind a fence on on a leash at all times, but we had one little dog who kept escaping and coming into our yard and chewing up the newspaper, even pooping on it once. Must've had a traumatic paper-training experience as a puppy. We called a couple of times, and they even knew him by name, but said they couldn't do anything: we knocked on the owner's door and he denied that the dog had ever left the yard. Then another time we had some animal in our fireplace -- we have the kind with doors that shut and lock. The room the fireplace is in has three doors with only one that closes, so if an animal got out there would be no way to keep him contained in that room. I would have thought they'd bring two people in with one to open the door and one to be ready with a cage or net or something -- but only one lady comes and the first thing she does is throw the fireplace doors wide open -- if the animal had been right there it probably would have run out into the room and ended up who knows where. But she couldn't find him -- he had backed up in the chimney a little bit but couldn't get far enough up to get out. The lady left; the animal, which turned out to be a squirrel eventually died.

Anyway -- sorry to go one about our less than stellar animal control people -- but hope your friend finds his home ok. Apparently he did after his last visit so hopefully he will again.Barbara H.http://barbarah.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28854403.post-12028400787496319132009-08-20T12:06:35.922-06:002009-08-20T12:06:35.922-06:00Aww, poor puppy. It's hard to make changes, isn't it? Especially when you don't know what's around the corner. I've been doing my work-from-home job for . . . 9 or 10 years? I'm getting a bit restless. But it gives me so much flexibility that I can't imagine finding something that works as well.
