Friday's Fave Five #232

Hi everyone!  To go celebrate the gorgeous weather, we are expecting a high of 15*C (59*F) today, I am putting up a springy kind of button.  Even though snow is forecast for Sunday it is going to be an above zero springy snow, and I am happy, happy, happy about all that!  Spring is on it's way!  Feel free to nab the new button and use it in your post.

And now it's time to look for our favorite blessings from the week.  It is a good practice to look for and recognize the blessings in our lives, on a good week and on those weeks that aren't so great.  Guidelines link is in the sidebar if you are new.

1.  My Massage Therapist.  I have been going for a massage for many a year due to issues in my shoulders and neck and a job that aggravates the problem at times. My massage lady always has done a really great job but she was especially helpful when I mentioned my knee ligament injury.  She showed me how to properly "ice" the knee and took extra time to look up stretches for me. Ever since last weekend I've been following her advice and my knee has felt progressively much better.  Yes, running a cup sized hunk of ice back and forth over my leg from my mid-thigh to mid-shin until the skin is pinky-red is shockingly chilling at first, but it has really been exactly what my knee needed.  I'm thankful for a therapist who knows her stuff!

2.  Honey Cinnamon hot drink.  I mentioned the other day that I was going to try out a "cold cure" that I had read on pinterest which links here.  I've been mixing it into hot water and I must say it is absolutely delicious. Honey and cinnamon both have antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties.. I'm on my second day of having it at least 3 times a day and the cold that is trying to come on me, I must admit, doesn't feel nearly as bad it usually would have.  It's not totally gone but it hasn't really settled in for a long stay, if you know what I mean.  I just feel better.  I might just use this as my evening drink even when I'm not fighting a cold to keep up my immune system.

3.  Comfy throw blankets to cuddle up with each evening.  Nothing feels as wonderful as a fresh washed throw in the evenings especially when one is trying to fight off a cold.

4.  Sleep Night Time Tea Lotion.  From Bath and Body Works.  Oh my, this smells so relaxing and wonderful for nighttime.  I bought a bottle a couple years ago and the next time I was in the big city I made sure I picked up another. So nice to put on just before bed. I've read online at amazon that it's discontinued.  So far here in Canada it was still available last I checked.  My city is FINALLY getting a Bath and Body so I hope this lovely lotion is not seasonal or discontined.

5.  Good report for my Dad from the doctor.  What could have been a very scary report turned out to be something minor so that was a huge relief both for my Dad and us.  We're very thankful it's something that will require no drugs or surgery but just a change in diet.  Something not easy for a senior used to eating a certain way, but certainly doable.

What were your favorite blessings?  Were they very obvious or did you have to dig for a few of them?  If you share in a post please feel free to add you link onto the Mr. Linky.  If you can, I encourage you to visit around to the other FFF participants.   Have a great weekend everyone!

I am certainly going to try that honey cinnamon tea. Two of my co-workers are down with a cold and I can feel it creeping up on me, too!

Thankful that your dad will only need a change in diet to manage his health condition. A praise indeed.

I was feeling crummy all weekend and drank many mugs of hot water with honey and lemon juice.
Great news about your dad! Considering all the other options that might have been needed, changing his diet is really minor.

I'm glad to hear that your knee is feeling better and that your Dad doesn't need any surgery or drugs. I love natural remedies. I hope you'll get over your cold very soon.

You know, I've never been for a massage, ever. I should go, I have shoulder issues and am always sore.

I do hope your knee feels better.

Have a wonderful weekend Susanne :)

The button is cute! I'm ready for spring, though winter hasn't been too bad this year.

I love throw blankets -- we have them in almost every room!

Glad the prognosis is good for your dad. Changing a diet is hard after so many years, but it's still an easier option than surgery or some kind of treatment.

Happy to hear your Dad is doing well. Ditto on cozy blankets. I have several, but always need more.

I'm so glad your Dad is ok and I hope your cold goes soon. I know how you feel about warm snuggly blankets in the evenings as I am flu ridden and wrapping up each night!xxxxx

Love the new button!

Thanks for sharing about the honey cinnamon combo. I'm going to look for organic honey in my area right away.

Glad your dad is going to be ok, and best wishes on changing the diet. I know that is hard to do ... but a lot easier than other treatments!

I'm so glad the therapy is helping your knee, neck, and shoulder! God is good!

I love throws! I have at least 5 in the living room ha! I like to cuddle up on the couch when it is cold and just relax.

I love B&BW! I have used some of the stuffy you bought. It was a different kind and has been quite some time ago. Thanks for reminding me about it. I will have to check it out again.

Praise God for your Dad's good report!!!!

Love your new button, too. Isn't it nice to have therapists who know their stuff?

I have a B&BW lotion that has a mint scent that helps me sleep... Hope you have a good week ahead!
