Just Another Day in the Life...

So in a moment where I lost my head, I agreed to volunteer to canvass for a charitable organization.  The dates being right in the middle of my Younger Girl's graduation.  Yikes, like I didn't have enough to do. Thinking I had until the 7th of June, I thought, "no problem-o".

I really should have known better.  It was due June the 1st.  So by the time I realized that little tidbit, I was 2 days late.  It took me another day to work up the guts to phone the zone leader and admit I'd blown it.  Who was sweet as pie about it.  I told her if she didn't mind, I'd still like to go out, but couldn't do it until Tuesday.  She said that was just dandy.  Tuesday afternoon I turn on the computer, who's home page is the weather network, and guess what I see.

Tornado watch for the evening hours for my area.

Severe thunderstorm warning.

Sigh.  Such is my life.  I don't think I've ever canvassed so fast in my life.  I finished the last house just as the thunder started.

Whew.

Oh dear. Glad you got the canvassing in and weren't swept away to Kansas. The pilots had to avoid those tornado warnings on our flight path from Chicago to Seattle yesterday...

Laughing with you. Nothing like having a deadline, in the form of a tornado, to make you work fast!

Motivation. :) I'm sure they were just thrilled to have you do it, I think a lot of people say they will and then things come up and they don't.

:D Well, you were able to spin the story in an entertaining manner at any rate. You got a blog post out of it and we got a snicker! Glad you were able to get that done before the thunder!
