The Simple Woman's Day Book 04/23/12

Joining in with those who journal with The Simple Woman's Daybook.  To join in go here.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It is absolutely gorgeous outside.  It's supposed to get to a record breaking 29*C.  That's 84*F, summer weather for us.  I had to quickly make sure all my summer wear was clean and ready to go on the weekend.

I am thinking... I really need to trim my cedars before the wasps comes out.

I am thankful... For the opportunity to get in a gorgeous coulee walk and a great bike ride over the weekend with my hubby.

In the kitchen... yikes, I have no idea yet.

I am creating... hopefully less cluttered and more organized closets and drawers

I am going... absolutely nowhere this week.  Too much yard work and things to get done at home

I am wondering... what study my ladies group will be doing next.  We just finished up a really challenging and good one about offense and forgiveness.  Wondering in which direction we'll go next

I am reading...  Finishing up with "Need You Now" for a review.  Should be done today.  Next up?  "Mine is the Night" by Liz Curtis Higgs

I am hoping... to get a yard sale together in the next couple of weeks.  I have a few bigger things to get rid of.  The sooner the better would be nice.

I am looking forward to... a week of cooking on the grill. Used it yesterday for the first time.  Love grilling.

I am learning... how bad sugar actually is for us

Around the house...more purging, more boxes of yard sale stuff, more less cluttered shelves!

I am pondering... how ridiculously expensive graduation around here is between the grad fees, the banquet tickets, the dress, the hair, the jewelry, the shoes, the photos.  It's crazy.  Way to over the top in my opinion!!!

A quote for the day...

"The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came. Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory."                              -R.A. Torrey

One of my favorite things... the smell of spring air coming in the windows first thing in the morning

A few plans for the rest of the week... vote (today is provincial election day),  trim the cedar bushes, turn over the soil in the flower beds, make a meal for a friend who had a baby

 A peek into my day...

If I understand your profile correctly, you are a preschool care provider..is that correct?
I enjoyed reading your day book.I usually do mine on Tuesday. We've had some really warm temperatures this Spring and now some cooler ones...I've transferred my clothes from one closet to the next but still have some long sleeved tops in the one in my bedroom. Since I am too warm most of the time, I don't need to worry about the cooler weather.
We've planted most of our garden and flowers already. I just went out to check on the Daylillies.. They have just begin to come up out of the ground.
Have a blessed week.

I love the quote, Susanne. Your weather sounds exactly like ours. It's nice to think of us both having the same kind of day:) Great job on all the organizing and cleaning! Wow, I need to do some of that myself.

I've seen Need You Now mentioned a lot. I'm looking forward to your review.

I'm hoping to plant some annuals this week, but top priority is getting graduation announcements addressed and mailed.

I don't think we have that much expense with graduation. Having a guy helps. :-) We don't have a graduation banquet but there is a Junior-Senior banquet coming up a few weeks before graduation.

It's a beautiful spring day here too and I got out of work 4 hours early as i have my repeat med appt. When i left for work it was only 42F and raining! when I got home it was sunny, blue skies and a warm 54F...and getting warmer! the western part of our state got snow!! i hope it stays out there and doesn't move east to us! lol....I'll have to check out your books and yes....I am reading about sugars too. saw your question about yogurt. I am LEARNING to like yogurt cause i have to so i started with one called Yoplait light fat free flavor is Orange Creme. It's pretty good and only 16 g of sugar but sadly it's the fake sugar. UGH but i need the calcium so will just keep trying all diff kinds! great quote ...enjoyed the whole daybook...maybe i'll do one tomorrow..no time today.

I love the quote, Susanne, and so true. We are to be vigilant, watching and praying, BEFORE temptation comes. Most of the time, we are right in the middle of an epic fail before we even start to pray ....

I love fresh breezes coming in the window in the mornings too.

Enjoy your beautiful day!

Cooking on the grill! That's something I still haven't convinced Jonathan that it has merit.

We're experiencing Summer For Us as well. Isn't it WONDERFUL!?! I hope you are enjoying it thoroughly!

Life sounds busy and productive Susanne. It is warmer than usual here too (downright hot actually!). We have just moved into our new home, and I'm enjoying the front porch and eating out on the little patio out back. Simple pleasures I was really looking forward to.

Now that we're mostly unpacked I'm beginning to think about doing some planting outdoors. My main obstacle will be the deer - sweet to look at but not very friendly to most flowers. I'll have to get creative.

So nice to hear from you Susanne.
