Friday Fave Five #150

My goodness, friends.  Can you believe it is the 150th edition of Friday's Fave Five?  I can't wrap my mind around that!  Thank you to all who have blessed me with your participation whether you've stuck with this little meme from the very beginning or whether you are just recently joining in.  I've loved everyone of you participating.

So this week was a bit of a toughie for me.  I have been tired, folks.  All those late nights sitting up with my daughter are not quite as easy to get over as they were when I was a few years younger.  I've really been dragging.  but there is still favorites I can find!   In no particular order:

1.  Black Apricots.  Found them at Costco and they were yummy!  They mess with your brain because they are black and fuzzy on the outside, like an apricot,  and then inside they are smooth and juicy, like a plum.  And they taste like a bit of both.

2.   Hot dogs.  Yes, I know.  They are not healthy in the least,  and I probably do not want to know what goes into them, but once in a while they really hit the spot.  Especially on those days when I too tired to cook.  My favorite topping?  Cheeze Whiz and salsa.  And close behind is mustard, chopped onions and chopped tomatoes.  What's your favorite toppings?

3.  Iced Chai Tea Latte.  When it's hot out, who wants a hot tea or coffee when you're outside.  Did you know you can get any Starbucks hot coffee as an iced version?  I tried the Chai Tea Latte iced.  Yup, real cold and real good!

4.  Another yummy pizza from our favorite pizza place.  I've mentioned the various delicious pizzas we've tried before, some of them top competitors in International Pizza Challenges held each year in Las Vegas.    Our goal is to eat our way through their menu.  So every time we order, we select one we already know we like and then we try something new.  This time the sure thing was the Creamy Philly Cheesesteak pizza (absolutely delicious) and the new try was Teriyaki Steak which had teriyaki sauce, sesame seeds, seasoned steak, pineapple, green pepper, onion and cheddar.  I was a little bit leery but the guy on the phone suggested it when asked so I gave it a try.  Oh my goodness, it was good.

5. Long Weekends.  Love my long weekends.  I wish I could have one each week!  :v)  It was a gorgeous day and hubby and I did one of our favorite activities together, just me and him.  We went for a good long bike ride.  Then in the afternoon, I made bbq ribs with that wonderful sauce I mentioned last FFF.  All in all a very relaxing day.

What are your favorites or blessings from your last week?  Help me celebrate 150 posts of FFF and join in this week.  If you have joined in I'll enter your name to win one of 2 Five Dollar gifts cards to Starbucks so that you can have a favorite drink, maybe even an iced chai tea latte,  on me.

Hi Susanne, I know what you mean about it taking longer to recover than it used to. Sometimes I say that I have to return home from vacation in order to rest up from vacation.
The apricots sound perfect for summer snacks!
I'm glad you were able to enjoy that long bike ride with your hubby.
Have a great weekend!

I enjoy this meme very much although I wasn't with you since the beginning. It's nice, because I can remember what I did during this week even after a year, lol !

Of course, if you had a long weekend each week, it would no longer be a long weekend, now would it? I've never seen black apricots, I'll have to keep my eye open for them, I'd love to try them! Congratulations on your 150th edition of Fave Five, I have always enjoyed this meme because it's so nice to look back and count your blessings each week. Hope you have a great weekend Susanne!

I am drinking a chia tea as we speak...and it's good. I really love the mocha coconut frappachino's from starbucks. Man are they good! I have never had a black apricot...sounds interesting. I am assuming they are not actually black. they do have black plums which I like.

I have not tried an iced chai, but people keep saying how good they are, maybe I'll try one today :)

And I'll be watching for black apricots, that sounds fun!

I'm with you on those long weekends, Susanne. Wish I could have one every week!

I've never had a black apricot. I'll have to look for them now. It does take a while to get back in the normal swing of things after a visit, I know.

Thanks -- always -- for hosting, Susanne. Love FFF!

Wow, 150 FFFs! That's neat.

Even the name of black apricots is messing with my mind. I'd never heard of them before.

I'm not a big hot dog fan, but sometimes they really do just hit the spot. My favorite toppings are Miracle Whip with a bit of mustard and ketchup and then shredded cheddar cheese and chili. When we have sloppy joes I usually have a hot dog for lunch the next day because I love the leftover meat on my hot dog.

I need to be more adventurous with pizzas. I tend to get my same favorite each week and am pretty leery of non-traditional pizza toppings. But I might just discover a new favorite. I like your idea of one new and one old favorite pizza.

Congratulations, Susanne, on 150! I love this meme. Thank you for keeping it going for all of us.

My friend, who just returned from a two week vacation, has a theory that it takes the same amount of time to recuperate from vacation as the time you spent away. I think she's right.

The bike ride and weekend with your husband sound wonderful. Just what life is all about.

Oh I am waiting for cooler days to go for a bike ride with my hubby. We like to do that as well, but this year has not afforded us an opportunity.

I'm going to have to try an iced coffee ... after all, I love iced tea!

By the way, thanks for hosting 150 times! FFF is a bright spot in my week.

I am not a hot dog fan (now) but when it comes to food cooked over a fire, nothing beats a hot hog! I like mine with mustard or chili and onions. Mmmm.

I'm a hot dog fan though I'm picky about which ones I eat here in Asia. So glad to see your blog post by way of Fruitful Words!

I love hot dogs...and I don't care if they are healthy or not. Sometimes I buy Kosher one's like (Hebrew National) which are not cured and have no preservatives but most of the time I buy a big, juciy, spicy, one that I can put chili on although your cheeze wiz and salsa has really piqued my interest. So don't wonder if I go ahead and steal this yummy hot dog topping recipe.

I'm very glad that you and your hubby got a bike ride in and that you are resting up. My daughter left on Friday and I am getting a little more rest, she is always go, go, go, and my son leaves back to college on the 14th so it will be a little easier with just the 3 boys, who don't expect mom to entertain them as much, but like you said, it was worth it.

My hubby loves chai tea so when he gets back I will tell him about the Starbucks chai tea.

WOW 150 that's amazing...I know someday I will get my rear in gear and join in.
