Monday Mish Mash

Welcome to spring in Southern Alberta!

This was the scene we woke up to  first thing Saturday morning.  Our winter storm warning was no April Fool's Day joke.  Or maybe it was.  A cruel, cruel joke nature played upon us.

What you don't see in these pictures is that the snow is actually coming down.  And it came down all. day. long.  By the time it took a break there was more than a foot of snow on that bbq.  A foot of heavy, wet, cold snow.  Sigh.

But did that keep us hearty Southern Albertan hunkered down in our homes.  Nope.  I still went to the Wally Mart.  I mean when one needs cleaning and laundry supplies, one needs cleaning and laundry supplies.  That's just the way it is.  And who let's a little winter storm warning stop them.  Not us, if the crowded Wally Mart was any indication.

So today, I'm still looking at a bunch of snow on the lawns though it has mostly melted off the roads.  I am so ready for spring!  If anyone is on good terms with nature, can you please put in a good word for us!  It would be muchly appreciated!

We had a gorgeous day on Saturday. And then yesterday it snowed and the wind blew and it felt like the first day of winter. And it was my daughter's softball team opening game. Needless to say, we ended up at home drinking cocoa and watching movies:(

I can tell you, if we got even a fraction of what you've got there in your photos, our city would be shutting down. I do hope you get some real spring soon!

someone else will have to put in that good word because so far I've failed in all my attempts...

Wow. You guys are really being hit up there, but I'm glad you got your shopping done anyway. No snow here but cold. So no spring yet although we had a few moments.

I'm so sorry. I know how that feels. When the flower's are all poking through the ground, the birds are all twitterpated and it looks and feels like sping has sprung, then he comes sneaking in on a dark forbiding cloud. Old man winter makes his last call. At least we hope it's his last one!
Get some hot chocolate, a good book and pull the drapes shut so you can't see it.
Think sun
