Photo Hunters ~ Anything Goes

Anything Goes today on photo hunters. I picked this picture just because for some reason I like it. We had just come out of a new, huge mall and were in the parking lot. The contrast between the stark commercialism we had just left and the grassroots farming that our area is built on really struck me. Also the contrast between the peacefulness of the farmer's field and the crazy busy highway running right in front of it also stood out.

For more anything goes head over here.

Great photo! The same is happening here in New York State-- farms everywhere are giving way to mall, highways, and other commercial ventures. I'm not too keen on it. Very sad to see.

Enjoy your weekend!

Excellent photo!! The contrast is striking and sad to see. I'd much rather look at open fields than highways.

Mine is up over at my photo blog.

Nice view - it is sad to see such pastoral scenes cut up by highways. Like the photo - really shows the contrast.

This looks much like Arkansas. Great shot!

All those strong, horizontal lines are good, too. All that gold makes for a very homey symmetry.

What a great picture. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you are feeling much better by now. Sorry to hear of your emergency room trip run.

I have enjoyed the 5 Favorites. I do love Big Sexy Hairspray but seriously, who named it? Seems odd to me, but what do I know? It really works and I live in Memphis with humidity levels that cannot be described!! My little 2 year old grandson introduced me to Welch's fruit snacks and oh my-I often eat them all up before he gets here!!

BLessings.

I grew up in New England and have spent most of my life near the ocean. I remember driving through the prairie and it looked much like this. It is strange to be on a highway so near to the farm land. It's such a shame to have all the malls and such taking over our land. Don't you ever wonder what the heck people do with all that stuff they buy

Great picture Susanne. It reminds me of our area - once country/fast becoming rather too urban for our taste.
I hope your back is feeling better. I'm so sorry it has been so painful.

commercialism kills. i still prefer to look at a green expanse than those stone structures.

I always find highways going right through farm fields really ominous - what must those farmers think as they drive their tractors?

Hah, this looks just like my town. Two blocks off the highway and you step back in time about 50 years.

Hope you are feeling better!

Love,
Katherine
