Say It Isn't So!

Guess what I was just out doing. Biking? Nope. Walking? Nope. Sunning? Nope. I was out hauling every potted plant under the front porch or into the garage or covering it on the deck with sheets. Including my 2 little tomato plants. Why you ask? Because, dear blogging friends, we have frost warnings and isolated flurries predicted for tonight! In June!
Now, that's just all kinds of wrong!

Update: Praise God, no snow! Although it was a bit nippy this morning! On our walk this morning lots of people had sheets and bags out over their flower beds but the sun is making attempts at breaking through the clouds so it's all good!

Update on the update: Arrrgh! Frost warnings again for tonight and rain/snow mix in the morning predicted. Someone needs to have a chat with the weatherman around here. Off I go to rehaul everything to safety and cover what I can. All I can say is thank goodness I didn't pitch them old sheets.

Wow. It's not nice to fool Mother Nature. Bill at The Old Farts Blog had snow in Calgary. Isn't it June?

That is so strange!!

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of Every Now and Then when you get done. Sounds like a good day to stay in and curl up with it!

I relate. Michigan takes her own sweet time warming up for what we'd like to call summer, but can really only name as early spring until about mid-July. Our plants, especially the tomatoes, are always in danger of frost, as long as it's still June! Right now,I'm wearing a sweater and knee socks- inside the house.

I was surprised to read you don't have graduation open houses where you are. So popular here, I haven't cooked a meal yet this entire weekend- another one at 5pm tonight- dinner! Too much cake is one drawback. Anyway, perhaps you should begin a new trend in your corner of the world. I think it'd catch on quickly.

Glad ll the tender new plants survived the sudden winter blast.

We have a similar situation down here in the south only in reverse. We will get a real warm spell in early February and all the plants will bud out and then it will return to the normal wintry weather and kill everything that the warm weather forced out early. It is very upsetting.

Blessings
Robin

What a pain in the neck, Susanne. I can't believe you're still getting frost warnings. I guess I'm forgetting how far north you really are. You and I are something else, the way we're babying our two little tomato plants.

If anything happens to mine, I may never get over it. LOL

Than again you are way more north than I am I think.....

Oh my! What a pain for you! I'm sitting in the middle of a severe thunderstorm right now, I can't imagine snow or frost.
