Friday's Fave Five #31

Book giveaway here.

Hi, welcome to Friday's Fave Five. If you're new here and would like to join in you can just click on the button in my sidebar for info. Then jump right in! I'm ready to jump right in this week. After a few hard weeks, it was really nice having quite a few things to narrow down to just five this week. But that's the great thing about looking back and finding the good things from my week. When it's been a harder week it focuses me on looking at the good things in my life and when it's been an easier week it just makes me even more grateful. So let's get started:

1. This picture in a Ruby Tuesday post by Jientje. What a great shot. It just got me thinking how if we're not paying attention so many great things pass us by and we don't even realize it. Way to go Jientje, noticing and capturing that great pic!

2. Knowing it's only one more day to picking up my girl for her visit home. The visits are too few and far between for this mom. I can hardly wait to have her home for 10 wonderful days. Subsequently it might be a bit quiet on the ol' blog next week.

3. Sunshine. Thursday morning brought warm, beautiful sunshine. Even after the flurries of Wednesday, there was the gorgeous blue sky and sunshine. Needless to say we spent a fair bit of the morning outside playing and soaking it up. Ahhh, nothing like kid's laughing and playing, a cup of coffee, a good book and sunshine!

4. Playing with different features on my camera. And taking pics of the flowers hubby got me last week. I found features I didn't even know were on my camera. And I think I got some nice shots with no playing around on any photo program. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that. LOL. I just now, after a year of owning this camera, figured out it had other features than shoot and click, for heaven's sake. A photo program would really tax my techy lacking brain. ;v)

Not pro by any means but a relaxing, fun half hour.

5. The purge. Getting a big chunk of the sort and purge finished. It's like a huge weight off my shoulders. I don't know, but come spring it's like all the "stuff" that's laying around in the house starts to weigh me down and I get to the point where I start going through the rooms like a mad woman getting things out. Things I'd been hanging onto all of a sudden lose their appeal and into the pile they go. Bye, bye to a huge bag of clothes, a bag of stuffed animals, a box of 3 coffee carafes and a dozen coffee cups, a huge box of assorted stuff and 2 stacking chairs.

Along with this pile of stuff that's going to the thrift store 2 huge bags of stuff went into the garbage. It's almost as good as losing weight. Almost. ;v)
What's been the favorite things from your week? If you've done a Fave Five post sign on to Mr. Linky so that we can come and visit and enjoy your faves along with you!

These are great faves this week, Susanne. I can identify with the desire to 'throw it all out the door' and clean it all up. The new camera is taking great photos!

Those are beautiful pictures with your camera.

HOORAY for THE PURGE! I love getting rid of excess junk, and I have the same problems you do with stuffed animals and coffee mugs.

Have a great visit with your daughter!

Wow...the pics are great! I need to "play" with my camera too - I'm certain it HAS to do more than point-and-shoot (or, maybe that's a function of the camera "holder"? LoL)

Good for you on the super spring cleaning! I could use you around here...hope you have a fabulous visit with your daughter, and a wonderful weekend ahead!

I love the pictures you took of your flowers! Makes me want to read the manual that came with my camera!

I totally love to declutter, too. I'm ready to start in - spring just does it to a person, I think.

Have a wonderful visit with your girl!

My list will be up very soon...was a long day at work and then errands....

I always enjoy your friday faves Susanne. I know how you feel about getting rid of some of the clutter. As I fought my way out of my closet the other day I thought it would be a good time to sort and give away.
Have a blessed weekend. So glad you have warm sunshine!

What a nice photo of the two of you, Susanne. Mandy will be here next week, so you and I both will have our long distance daughters back home for a while.

Doesn't it feel good to give stuff to charity and throw things away? I tell you, when I get in that mood, nothing is safe around here. LOL Good for you!

I missed doing this today -- it was one of those on the go all day types of a day.

Those pictures are gorgeous! I've been getting rid of some things but need to do a greater purge.

Hope you ave a great week with your daughter!

So sorry, I messed up my first listing:( It was for an old post.

Love your favorites this week. It's so nice when the "grown up kids" come home again. My son will be home next weekend and I can't wait. 19 isn't too grown up;)

I've enjoyed sunshine and purging this week, too! Spring is a great time to throw open the windows and get rid of all the stuff that weighs us down.

Enjoy your weekend, Susanne.

Oh yay! She'll be home before you know it and what a glorious time that will be. (That is a gorgeous picture of you both!)

We've been going through the purge around here too. You should see my basement! And I thought I had gotten rid of all my extra stuff before the move. I guess it goes to show that you can always re-evaluate what's important around your place!
