The Things We Do For Our Kids

Well, I promised. And tonight I delivered. And now my throat hurts. And my ears are buzzing. And my head is aching. But the main thing is I kept my promise! Guess where I was tonight! If you ever want a crazy, loud, fun, rip snorting good time, go with your kid to a Canadian Idol (or American Idol) finale broadcast even if you have to travel a bit.

Oh my word. Oh my head! It was a two hour broadcast and everytime the singing waiter came on the screen the crowd of 2000 erupted into deafening cheering and shouting. And when we were told the crowd was going to be on air? Well, let's just see if maybe you can take a guess as to who won from this video. This just after the announcement was made by the CI host.

Yup, our singing waiter is the new Canadian Idol. I'm so glad I didn't do all that dialing for nothing. LOL. Congratulations to Theo Tams! I'll post his single that hits the airwaves tonight a little later tomorrow when it gets onto one of the servers. I taped it but, you know, it was such pandemoneum, you couldn't even hear him singing. Which is the way it should be.

Now I'm off to actually watch the program which I'm so glad I recorded so I can actually hear the show! LOL.

Updated: Here it is. The single "Sing" by Theo Tams now available on iTunes.

Woo hoo! I was surprised when I saw who the final two were because, honestly, I didn't think Mitch had a chance to make it that far. He seems very sweet and kind, but musically and artistically, I didn't see a huge variation in his songs or performances.

Way to go that your waiter won! How awesome that you loved your girl enough to tread into the malay to celebrate with ringing ears and a lost voice!

I think it's great that you took your daughter to the final night. Just think of the memories she (and you) will have for years to come!

Theo totally deserved to win. He really does have a great voice, and I've already heard his single on the radio this morning.
