Weather Phenomena and a Winner!

Today dawned still with a ton of snow, still -7*C (17*F) but bright and sunny. I'll take the bright and sunny. By Saturday it should be 13 C (62*F) above. I'll take that too.

Crazy weather. It has been quite the multiple personality this year. I know it's Southern Alberta but this is extreme even for us. It's been setting all sorts of records around here.

I sure am glad the Lord isn't like that. There is no blowing back and forth, no wondering if He will be changing with the weather, so to speak.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever."
-Hebrews 13 : 8 NIV
and again:

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the
heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
-James 1 : 17 NIV

There is great comfort in that. A security. That no matter what is happening in my world. No matter what storm is swirling around me, I can count on God to be the same. I can count on Him being trustworthy, keeping His Word, a Rock, a strength, because he is not shifting around. He is Who He says He is. If you feel life storming around you, grab ahold of the One who will not change with the storm. He can be counted upon. That makes me happy.

And this also makes me happy. Today's the day. I get to give away the wonderful Steven Curtis Chapman CD "This Moment". Drumroll please. And the handy dandy random number generator has chosen:

That would be Donnetta! Congratulations. I'll be contacting you. I'm just sorry that I couldn't give a copy of this great CD to each and everyone of you who commented. (Sandra, keep trying girl!)

Now I'm off to clean up the mess from the other weather phenomenan that struck my kitchen this morning. A tornado roared through and I'm pretty sure it was Tornado Tia, although with the mustard it might have been Hurricane Jay. But I'm sure when asked later today it will be identified as those unwanted guests who tend to show up around here: Notme and his sister Ida Know.

I'd be bummed if the CD weren't going to such a great friend. Congrats, Donnetta! Enjoy!!

Fun post, Susanne!

Have a blessed day.

Oh I'm so excited!! Thanks Susanne!!

And Pam, you are so very kind! Thanks for your comment also!

We've got shining sun today here as well (after snow off and on all day yesterday). We were discussing just this morning if we thought Spring was finally on the way... HHmmmm....

Only time will tell. Enjoy the sun at least! We will be!!

And rejoicing with you that we serve a God that DOES NOT change!

You really have had the wackiest weather, Susanne. It makes our crazy Colorado weather seem downright normal.

Congratulations to Donnetta. It's a great CD - she's going to love it.

His sister, Ida Know. You crack me up. :-)

Oh what a bummer to have it so cold! I've been thanking God for the great weather we've been having, even if I do have a sunburn now...

Congrats Donnetta! You're gonna love it!

Oh, and we have that same kind of phenomenon in our kitchen too! Somebody stop the madness... or messes. Either one will do me.
