Jumping Java, It's Art!

My brain is in absolute fog this morning. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep so needless to say, any neural pathways are slightly misfiring, as in not connecting at all. Someone please pass the esspresso!

And speaking of which did you know there is a whole new form of artistic expression out there called "Latte Art". Gone are the days of a simple order of a latte with a bunch of foam sitting on top. These barissta artists are giving ye olde Starbucks a run for their money. They even hold barissta competitions with competitors from around the world. Who wouldn't want one of these delivered to their table?

Not into leaves? How about this one?

Can't drink a lion? How about planets?

Yes, I'll take one of each. I mean, who knew I could get my caffienne and my culture all at my local coffee shop?

If you want to start practicing so that you can wow me when I come visit you for coffee, here's a quick little video to give you a headstart.

This artwork made me ooooh and ahhh, but the one that made me laugh out loud was this one:

Now that is a threat if I ever heard one!

Menu Plan Monday will get posted when I get a few cups of java in me so that I can get them brain nuerons awake.

Ha! This post is PERFECTLY timed with mine! I'm going to forward it to my husband with a note saying that I want to see some fancy foam patterns in my next expresso...

Susanne~

Loved this from the title right on down.

Drink up, friend, and I'll check back later to see your inspiring post. I'm sure the caffeine will give you just the right boost, fancy foam or not!

Hugs~

Those are amazing! I wonder if you get paid extra if you can do that?

OH-MY-WORD -- I can NOT even fathom what my little firecracker would be like after an espresso! Perish the thought!

You know Susanne, we should make a sign like that at our door but say, late parents will be handed a child who has been given an espresso and lots of candy:).

Happy Monday:)

WOW....maybe I should talk my teen out of graphic design and into latte art! Bet it wouldn't take a college degree to get a job! :) We could save lots of $$$$ LOL
Speaking of coffee, you made me laugh because here on the East coast it is 3: 05 pm, both girls are doing homework, I am in midst of posting some pics at my site and I am dying for a cup of Island Coconut...I need the surge of energy to finish the laundry...why do rainy days make me feel so tired???!

I have never heard of that I think, but those pictures are amazing! I'll have to be sure to take off my lid the next time I get a "fancy" coffee drink out, and see if they did anything fun! Probably not around here, I'm lucky to get what I order :) Which is why I mostly just drink my own coffee at home, in the AM, in my PJ's! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Love it. Have never seen the lion. We need to learn to do this at our coffee bar at church. Perhaps we could create a lion/lamb one?!

Oh yeah...one of each for me, too, please! Very impressive! Maybe that's what my artistic six year old may some day be doing...creating foam masterpieces as she works her way through college...;)

Oh, I need one of these right now! (It's 4:35 a.m. here) I WOULD appreciate the art for a minute or two, and then it would be gone!

That video is amazing! Such works of art, I wouldn't want to drink it and mess it up...but I love that sign too about the unattended children, too funny!

Good grief, I wouldn't want to mess it up by drinking it. Doesn't that sign just crack you up? I'm trying to imagine a toddler full of espresso, and it isn't pretty. LOL

Latte art.....who would have thought? Thanks for helping me to be "in the know." I really had no idea. :)

I'd be happy to meet you for a cup of latte art someday! :) LOL
