WFMW - What do I Fix Edition

**Don't forget to enter the book giveaway here. Draw will be Friday morning!

Here's the Challenge from Shannon's site: "It's 5:15 pm, the kids are hungry, you have a headache, hubby is almost home, and the pantry has three things in it. What is your BEST last-minute meal recipe? Share with everybody this week. We'll call it Works-For-Me Wednesday: The What-Do-I-Fix? Edition. Or we could just simplify and call it WFMWTWDIFE. Yeah. That's much simpler."
Wow, now that's a challenge. Three things in the pantry? The one that keeps coming to me is
Cheeseburger macaroni. Fast, easy and satisfying. And I'm assuming the hamburger doesn't count as part of the three things in the pantry 'cause it's, like, from the fridge/freezer. Right?
1 lb. (1/2 kg) lean ground beef
2 boxes Kraft Dinner
1/2 cup + 3 T. milk
1/4 cup parmesan
Scramble fry the ground beef adding whatever spices you like to taste that you would add into your favorite hamburger recipe. I use salt, pepper, garlic powder, dash of cayenne pepper and either chopped onion or onion powder. Fry until no longer pink, drain fat from pan.
Meanwhile cook the macaroni in large pot for 7 minutes in salted water. Drain, add milk, the KD cheese packet and parmesan. Stir. Add hamburger and stir gently until the cheese covers all. If you have cheddar cheese on hand you can grate some in and stir until melted. It will make it extra cheesy.
I serve this with sliced tomatoes to go along with the cheeseburger theme.
Share with us your best "What do I Fix?" recipe and link it up at Rocks In My Dryer. Or if you're desperate for quick, simple dinner ideas browse the links away.
**Updated**
I'm adding another recipe because when my daughter looked at it she said "What about Shepard's Pie". That is definitely a go to meal around here. Everyone loves it,it's fast and really yummy.
Easy Shepard's Pie
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cans tomato soup
1 onion chopped
approx. 10 potatoes
2 cups any type of frozen vegetable such as mixed veggies, corn, peas, or peas and carrots
Peel and cook potatoes until tender. Drain. Mash and whip with desired amount of butter (marg), salt and milk. Boil vegetables for 4 - 5 minutes. Drain.
Fry ground beef with chopped onion until beef is cooked through. Drain fat. Add tomato soup. Stir to mix. Place in bottom of 13x9 casserole. Place veggies over top. Spread potatoes over top of veggies. Brush with small amount of butter if desired. Bake at 350 F. for 20 - 30 minutes. Done.

This would work for me, two things I usually have on hand, some hamburger and mac n cheese.

Have a great rest of the week, dear Susanne!

They both sound great Susanne, but I think the Shepherd's Pie is the one I'd pick. Great job!! I'd just opt for going out for dinner.

Cheeseburger macaroni was a staple in my house when the kids were little! Everyone loved it...but I've never made yours, I cheated and used a box mix!
