Thursday Thanks Tank December 13, 2007

This week I'm very thankful for the simple things in my life. With the busy season well upon us, it's easy to lose sight of the wonderful, everyday kinds of things God blesses us with as we are caught up in the Christmas rush and business. It truly does help with the stress of season to focus on those things we have been blessed with .

~I'm thankful for my washer and dryer. It seems to be going full force lately and I can't imagine having to wash clothing with a tub and washboard.

~And along with that, I'm thankful for my vacuum cleaner, although it is not this one which I am coveting, wanting asking for, it does the job, and hey, I'm not outside beating my carpet with a stick.

~I'm thankful for the snow that we've had. I love snow and in my case it really puts me in a holiday mode.

~Hand in hand with that, I'm so thankful for my snow tires. ;v)

~I'm so thankful for my big, 'ole comforter and duvet cover. What a pleasure to get under that on the cold nights. And it makes for super simple bed making. I'm all about simple bed making.

~I'm thankful for those devotions I have read all this month by different women on their sites that help me to keep the focus on Jesus and the real reason for Christmas. I'm thankful for all your different perspectives and thoughts and insights.

~Even though I'm not a baker by heart, I'm so thankful I have the opportunity to do just that. This may be the last year having my oldest at home everyday during the month of December and I am happy to be bake for her enjoyment.

If you would like to join in, grab the button and let Pam at Without Fear know in the comments so that we can come and read yours.

I'm thankful for all of those things, too... I can't imagine hand-washing clothing.... ugh!

I too have been thinking and focusing on the simple blessings of life I too often take for granted. Things like heat, a bed, a healthy family.. etc.

Washer and dryer hadn't yet made it to my list, but now that you mention it...

Especially since today I am trying to get caught up on all of it. 3 loads already done with at least 3 more to go.

Wow... with that many clothes/ sheets/ towels... guess I should be thankful for those too!! ;-)

What a nice list, Susanne.

I'm wishing I had some Christmas snow (lucky you!) and could use our comforter (instead of never using it cuz it's so cotton-pickin' hot!).

Blessings!

Great list of the simple things you are thankful for! Right now I am thankful for a strong back and good shovel...we have about 6 inches already and it is still snowing...our very first real snow of the season!!

That is a beautiful list. I most definitely am thankful for my snow tires!! We've got a lot of snow out there but not as much as last year so that I'm thankful for too!

I'm thankful for the same things too... well, I don't have the need for snow tires now, but once I did! :)

I'm thankful for all of those things too and, also, my lovely wood stove on these cold Dec mornings!

A wonderful list, Susanne.
My DRYER DIED earlier this week! I was pretty grateful when my husband fixed it, let me tell you.

We have snow, too! Probably not as much as you have, but my yard is finally white!

I love my big comforter and for the same reason. Warm and snuggly AND it makes bed making a snap.

Even if your oldest isn't living at home next Christmas, I'll bet she'll be there for the holidays. Mine always were and I know the baking I did had at least a little to do with that. :-)
