The Winners and Fall Love

We have 3 winners for Amy Grant's new book release "Mosaic - Pieces of My Life So Far". Congratulations to:

~#15 Chappyswife from Journey to the Prize

~#18 Missy from Everyday Graces

~#21 Jayedee from Life in the Lost World

Congratulations ladies! I'll be contacting you. If you would still really like this book it is now available for purchase at Amazon here.

Now my friend Barb and I were discussing yesterday our love of fall. Around here fall is in full force. The cooler weather, the trees turning color, the leaves falling. It's been absolutely beautiful and warm during the days. My dayhome kids have been outside everyday raking, jumping in the leaves and driving every vehicle they can find through the backyard leaves. Barb was telling me her little crab apple tree has dropped a handful of leaves. So Barb, in honor of your little crabapple tree, and to let you savor some more fall here's some fall love pictures courtesy of my backyard.

My yard's version of the yellow brick road

The pic doesn't do justice to how big this pile really is. That is a 5 year old standing next to it. And 2/3 of the leaves are still on the trees. We spent an hour piling these continuously in front of that little tower while the kids took turns jumping off into the pillowy cushion of this huge mountain of leaves. They had a riot!

Whee! I love fall.
Fall makes me happy! The one drawback that fall brings is a lot of this yellow stuff ends up in my house. But that's okay. It's so worth the giggles and smiles and I have a vacuum that becomes my best friend this time of year. Although I am pining and hinting for one of these.

I'm just going to live vicariously through you, Susanne. My one little crabapple can't begin to compete with this. LOL

My word, the leaves! And the photos are priceless, especially the last one. What fun!

AAAHHHH!!! I WON! I WON! Thank you, Susanne!!! How cool is that?!

I just love your trees. Those are so beautiful. I think it'd be fun to get in on the action with the kids. They have the best ideas on how to have fun, don't they?

I may have to repost the pictures of our trees from last year. They haven't turned yet this year. Happy Friday, Susanne!

Those leaves look like such fun! We don't have nearly as many now that our neighbor cut down his oak tree. It used to be pretty prolific.

Sometimes I have to be careful driving because I get distracted looking at all the beautiful trees.

Oh, I love these pictures! What a great pile of leaves!

We are just starting to get enough for a decent pile this weekend. But seeing yours makes me wish I could jump right in it with everyone!

Well my daughter was telling me about the great winds that blew through the Northwest yesterday and it's fun to see all those leaves being put to good use!

Congrats to the winners!

And I love your pictures. It makes me want to go north somewhere to see leaves that have changed colors... Us, we're still in beautiful green everywhere... even our grass is beautiful, lush and green and WERE NOT WATERING IT! Your leaves are lovely and time appropriate!)

I miss the 4 seasons. Here in Texas, we have 2. Hot and cold. And maybe a few cool days in between. (Mostly hot though!) My favorite season has always been Fall. I miss the leaves on the ground. (I don't miss raking them though!) I miss the color. I miss the temps. I miss being able to wear a sweater!

I'm home and trying to catch back up with everyone....congrats to your winners! I've seen that book pop up as a giveaway on other blogs too I think.
And I LOVE your trees and the pics of the kids! How fun is that, I bet they've had a blast with it...you're so fun to let them do that! It's finally getting a bit fallish here but no leaves that look like yours.
