The "I have no idea what to call this" post

Remember when you were a kid and somehow no matter where you lived you thought if you dug a hole in the earth to the other side of the world you'd end up in China? You'd come out of that hole with everything upside down with little Chinese children looking at you wearing their cute little pointy hats and a startled look on their face and asking, "Uh, what's up, Doc? Where'd you come from?" Or wait, maybe that was a Bug Bunny episode. Not sure. Anyway, on the digging to the other side of the world, I was a tad little bit off. I would actually end up treading water right smack in middle between the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean. I didn't even know there was a Southern Ocean. Go here and find where you would be and then come back and let me know. Just because enquiring minds want to know.

And if that is not fascinating enough for you, you can go here and find out if you went on a walk, where on earth would you go if you actually walked in a straight line. You will be very surprised. It won't be where you think.

Or if you want to come to Alberta and have a coffee with me click here to find the straight path from your place to mine, then put on your walking shoes and come on over! The coffee's always on and I'll even splurge on a cheesecake!

There, now no one can say that I am pure fluff. I'm all about keeping you informed with information that teaches and stretches your mind. What would you ever do without me? You're welcome! :v)

*Update* Well, it seems most of my American friends are treading water in or near the Indian Ocean. Come on, my friends, from other places, tell us where you come out. We really, really want to know. And keep telling me if you're from U.S.A. Just in case, you land somewhere on terra firma. I did go back and "dug" from the middle of China and it comes out on the western shores of South America, so I do know not everyone lands in the Indian Ocean. :v)

Okay, how BIG can the Indian Ocean be? Cuz, that's apparently where I'd end up, too. And WE live a long way from each other!

Have you ever done Google Earth? It's sooo cool. You can zoom in on the pyramids in Egypt, Niagara Falls, or your own house!

Fun post!

Well apparently it must be pretty big. I'm close to a teeny tiny little island. While you are close to Australia. So you'd probably have more luck being rescued whereas I'd have to swim for it. Hopefully it's not the island in "Uncharted". 8vO

I guess we can meet in the Indian Ocean. That's where I'd end up too!!
This was fun Susanne. And I, for one, would be so sad if you weren't blogging.
Have a great day!!

Funny how we grew up with that picture in our minds! I's be in the Indian Ocean, too, a little west of the southern corner of Australia. Looks like we'd better build some kind of station out there!

How fun was this! It's the Indian Ocean for me too...is this thing rigged! Between Madagascar and Australia but closer to Australia and we'll all be treading water.
Wonder if Chinese children ever heard about digging holes when they were little!

Fun post Susanne.

I'd end up halfway between Madagascar and Australia, yep, in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

The "walk" make me nuts - couldn't get a straight line.

Good grief. Are you trying to make me crazy? LOL

I wanted to come have coffee and wasn't sure where in Alberta that cheesecake and java would actually be waiting...so I chose a place not TOO far from the border. After all, I like to walk and all, but let's not get crazy.
Anyway, this was so cool, Susanne! I clicked on a few spots along the path. And wouldn't you know...one was a Starbucks in Idaho, so if I get tired, maybe you can meet me half way! ;)

How funny but I really am glad to know this because I have a fear of all things ocean (except for the part that meets the shoreline at the beach!) So I'd hate to dig all that way only to pop up through all sorts of scarey underwater creatures!

Thanks for sharing!

You know what I thought at the end of your post - "yea, I'm not sure what I would call this post either" but it was a GREAT post! I think the title you gave the post was therefore perfect! - I would end up in New Zealand by the way!

I appear to be in great company. I, too, would end up in the middle of the Indian Ocean, apparently far from alone though. :-)
