Determined Reading

How are you guys doing on the Spring Reading Thing? I'm going right through my non-fictions but as usual I'm getting really bogged down with the non-fictions. I don't know what it is about me but I start the non's with a bang and then come to a screeching halt about 1/2 way through and then just slug along.

Right now, I'm reading "Graced Based Parenting" by Dr. Tim Kimmel and while it is really good, I have to give it some focused time I think. So I think I might not post for a couple days so I can get through this book. I might come around and visit but I've got to do this. It's due back at the church library and I've already renewed it once. So I must, I must, I must get through in the next couple days. I am determined to say that I actually finished to the last page a non-fiction book.

To read any of my reviews you can link from my sidebar under "Completed Books and Reviews" in the reading section.

Oh, enjoy the reading time. This book sounds very good. I don't read as much as I would like for pleasure, but maybe later when my two year old is a little older. I usually read for knowledge and understanding, so it takes me longer since I need to focus more. So, I completly understand what you are saying.

I've only finished 4 out of 11. I'm in a non-fiction one, too, that if I am going to benefit from i really need to take my time with, and one secular fiction one that is kind of slow-going. I do have some Christian fiction on the list that I got for Mother's Day that I have been dying to get to -- those go pretty quickly.

I'll be looking forward to your review of this book. I've only heard the title and not much else about it.

Happy reading Susanne. I know just what you mean. I have a hard time with non-fiction. I like biographies but tend to get a bit bogged down in them as well. I guess I'm just a fiction kind of girl!!
See you soon.

See, I'm struggling with the fiction this time around for some reason. And the non-fiction, I've read some of them twice in a row. I'm still trying to finish though.

Susanne you sound like me, I can zip through non fiction real fast, but fiction takes a LOT for me.

I think it's because in order for me to enjoy it I have to really get into it and give it my full attention which we all know is not easy with a toddler around 24/7.

Enjoy your reading :)
Hugs,

♥Sandra

I know what you mean about the non-fiction. I have about six non-fiction books (all with bookmarks in them) on my nightstand that I've started and never finished....uggg.

Good luck!

Yes, yes, I'm right there with you. I've finished all my fiction, but only 2 of my non-fiction. Right now, I'm "forbidding" myself to read fiction until I finish at least one more non-fiction. Sigh... It's always like this for me. :)

I'm having a hard time getting into When People are Big and God is small. Then I've picked up some new books that are distracting me. It will be interesting to see what I finish. Happy reading...

Doing okay, but I've been so busy with everything else that I'm actually ready to sleep when I hit the bed. That and I can't get some of the books on my list.

Okay that AND I just got the second season of Lost from the library and I MUST WATCH IT.

Other than that, it's all good.

I've started all my non-fiction, but haven't finished any of them. I'll start them soon. We still have some time to finish right? Have fun reading!! I know I am.

I've posted review on all the books I've read so far. Just type "book reviews" in my search bar and it will pull up the ones I've done. I'll be checking u'rs out this weekend.

Hugs,
Eden

Plugging along with my non fiction too...I've started Boundaries With Teens and can I just say I hate parenting books? I usually end up feeling so guilty...or would that be conviction? Hmmmmm

I didn't put any non-fiction on my list this time! I'm bad that way!
Love fiction and I do so much better reading it but know I'd probably learn more if I read some non-fiction. Kept my list shorter this time and have 2 more to go and just started one of those last night.

oh dear...

don't mention the spring-reading thing...

I'm reading a lot but not the ones I listed - I really was beguiled by that cute little button - but don't tell on me!

:)

enjoy your reading!
