A Group Blog for Christian Moms Over at Faith Lifts today I'm chatting on the Word of God. Come on over there and leave me your ideas on the topic in the comments. Go on, I wait. La Di Da Di Da.

Back? Great! I found something sorta cool the other day. It's called the
Breakfast Club. And Zondervan publishers sponsor it. You sign up and every morning in your e-mail, they send you about a 5 minute read from the featured book of the week. By the end of the week you've read a couple chapters. Whet's your appetite for the book or you can decide whether that is a book you'd want to read all the way through. Every Monday they will start a new featured book. And the best thing? It's free! So click on the link and go check it out!

Also, today is Shalee's
Fifty Cheap Dates. She has Mr. Linky all set up so if you've got ideas on fun, inexpensive, romantic date with your hubby that does not include a book store, then write a post on it and link up. We can all use some new ideas in this department.

We like to take a Sunday afternoon at Costco. We just wander together and talk and sample all the samples. There is lots out on Sundays. If we feel wild and crazy we might buy a movie, they're cheap there, or go rent one, buy a dessert and go home and enjoy them together.

When the kids were little and went to bed at a decent time, on a late Saturday night sometimes we would get pizza, they are have those cheaper 1 topping ones out there now and just enjoy it together late at night talking and watching a movie or a good Star Trek Next Generation. I know, I know, some of you say yuck to that but substitute whatever is your fave series. :v)

You can email the book club and tell them that I signed up on your recommendation - apparently, they'll send you a free book now! That's nice.
I like the Cosco date idea! My husband and I don't spend enough time together like that, I think.

Love the getting lost in Costco idea; however, Mr. Right and I would have to get lost at the same place...

Thanks for sharing your date idea, Susanne! Now if only we can find a show we wouldn't mind watching...

Thanks for the Breakfast Club link. And, I'll go check out Faith Lifts later this afternoon. Love your ideas for the Cheap dates. Only, we don't have a Cosco. :( But, we still like to go wander aimlessly around big stores for fun! :) I posted a few of our favorite cheap dates, too! Have a great day!

I think there is just something special about those dates where we just spend time together. Money can't buy that!!

I think I saw the 50 cheap dates on another blog and was going to check it out but didn't have time...I'll have to follow your link! :)

We do the Costco thing as a family...we all love those free samples! As for Star Trek Next Gen...well, all I can say is that I endured many an episode for hubby when we were first dating...once married, Uh-uh. I did my time. heehee

WE love Star Trek here at home :)

We couldn't do the Costco because for some reason, the minute we enter any kind of store, my husband takes off on his own and then I end up walking around with the kids for 30 minutes trying to find him...it's very frustrating LOL

Love the Costco idea. Wish it was closer to our house. We'd have to NOT tell our kids we were going there however - they LOVE Costco.

I'm off to Faith Lifts now.

Costco in our city is an insane ZOO on the weekends. We go during the week. :)

We don't watch a lot of Star Trek, but our Monday night favorite is Babylon 5! :)

I offered one, cheap and fun idea in my post!

I didn't participate in Shalee's cheap date thing today because Rob and I never went on a cheap date. In our infinite wisdom we decided to just run up the credit cards. LOL

Our dates are cheap now, for sure. Actually, we're always on a date now that the girls are gone. So I just missed the boat on this one all the way around! :-)

Pizza late at night with Hubby sounds like a great idea to me..... that might be because I'm 5 months pregnant though:)

The book club thing sounds like a great idea... thanks for letting us in on it:)

Lol, Star Trek, it's not bad. I'd rather watch a good CSI or Criminal Minds :)

I'm over to faith lifts now :)

This post made me think of all the things we do together, that basically are a date. We run errands every Saturday, usually pick up a good coffee somewhere in the middle of it. We just like being together, doesnt really matter what we're up to.
