Outstaying Their Welcome

I have had a couple little visitors here over the past while. While I enjoy company and rarely get to have overnight visitors very often becuase all our family lives right here, these ones are the typical guests who came one day on an unexpected "just passing through, thought we'd say hi" kind of visit. But it has turned into the Proverbs 25:17 kind of guest.

"Don't go to your neighbor's house too often; too much of
you will make him hate you"

It's really not that they are coming here too often it's that they just won't leave period. They don't say a whole lot but boy, they leave a mess in their wake. And when the kids are questioned as to who is the culprit for infractions it always comes down to these two: Ida Know and her brother, Not Me.

"Who drank all the juice and didn't make more?" - Ida Know

"Who emptied the toilet paper roll and didn't put any more on?" - Not Me

"Which one of you didn't put away the blankets and left the Dvd's scattered in the tv room downstairs?" - Ida Know

"Who spilt on the counter and didn't wipe it up?" - Not Me

"Who's turn is it to do dishes?" - Ida Know

"Who left dirty dishes in the living room over night?" - Not Me

See what I mean? These two gremlin siblings are wreaking havoc in my home and I am growing weary of their visit. So I'm putting out the call. If these two belong to you, they have outstayed their welcome and would you please come and collect them toots sweet. Or maybe I need to email Mr. Keane to come and get them because they did stay at his place first.

Ida Know and Not Me are characters in my all time favorite syndicated comic strip "the Family Circus" by Bill Keane

I believe those two characters visited here a time or two years and years ago. What a great post!! Those two guys sure do get around.
Thank you for your nice comment on my "new look". No - I didn't do that needle work, but have done lots of similar pieces. Susie picked that out for me. She is amazing.

This is hilarious! Loved it! When I first started reading I thought you were totally serious. You had me hooked. But I was relieved that you didn't have to inform some real live breathing guests that they had out stayed their welcome. Oh, but you do sort of. Anyhow this was very cute!

How cute! But I'd like to pass on having them back, they were CONSTANT visitors here when my kids were younger and I sorta like them not being around anymore. Although it's kinda bad when I get that answer from hubby from time to time, hee hee!

Well, Susanne, you had me going. Here I was all set to you give you some very sage advice on how to get rid of inconsiderate guests without being all witchy about it.

LOL

Thanks. I'm all better now. This made my morning. :-)

Hey Kelly, They can't be at your house they are at mine--Could the true owner of these munchkins please raise your hand. I have to admit I had a meltdown the other day and they are lucky to have all appendages still attached. REALLY LUCKY!

They are teens in my house and in 5 years I will miss them terribly but right now I notice more grays EVERY DAY.

Kelly it's all your fault Thanks for SHARING. But NO!

Have a great scrumdillyumptious day. Remember to Laugh often and that it is already tommorrow in Australia.

These two are ageless, timeless, and they're are everywhere!

Nicely written.

Well, at least you only have 2 of them. They've left a messy trail here at my place, and I suspect that there must be an entire gang of these rascals just roaming the country.

Their ring leader appears to be named "Do I HAVE to?" 2nd in command is "He started it".

Sheesh.

Hilarious, Susanne! I love it. At our house, both of our little ones point to each other & say each other's name. It is sometimes impossible to tell which one is right. Fun.

That is too cute!

My house is full. I have Ms. Whinning & Ms. Complaining staying with me.

This is so funny and your comments are so clever, too. Wish I could type more but I hear a scream in the other room and someone is crying. Maybe Ida Know or Not Me just arrived for a visit. He He He.

I am glad that Not Me has decided to visit your home. He has been here entirely too long and has definitely overstaying his welcome. I haven't seen Ida Know yet. Maybe she will skip my house! Love the post! Blessings!
