Made With Love

GiBee at Kisses of Sunshine is hosting a Homemade Gifts with Love today. If you've got some great ideas for homemade gifts or would like to get some ideas from the simple and inexpensive to the elaborate go on over to her place and check out all the links. For someone like me, I'm loving all the different ideas everyone is sharing, as I'm not so great at coming up with these.

One idea I do have however, is a very simple teacher or coach gift that you're child can be involved in helping to put together. It's a "Care Package". You simply put each item into a nice little cloth drawstring bag or nice little gift bag with a note either handwritten by the child or done up on the computer explaining each item. The items and note are as follows:

"A Care Package to Help You Do Whatever It Takes"

A Stick of Gum: to remind you to stick with it

A Candle (unscented or the food will take on the scent - a birthday candle or tealight is nice): to give you light when you feel burned out & to remind you that Jesus is the light of the world

A Chocolate Kiss: to remind you that someone cares

Smarties: to help you on days when you don't feel so wise

Lifesavers: to remind you that everyone needs help once in awhile

A Snickers Bar: a reminder to see the funny side of things

A Rose: (either silk, chocolate, a picture, etc.) to remind you to take the time to smell the roses

Confetti: to help you celebrate the good times

A Penny: to say thanks for sharing your thoughts and knowledge

A Bag: to help you keep it all together

Cute! I did something similar to this in VBS. One thing you can add- a bag of chips "because you are all that and a bag of chips"

I am not planning to post an idea (fresh out of them) but this idea is perfect, perfect for me! I have a sewing group, and we exchange small gifts, preferably homemade. This will be perfect as I can sew up the little bags oh so quick and put these sweet ideas inside. Thank you for a great solution. I had no idea what I was going to do. xoxoox

Very clever (and inexpensive!) idea.

I'm thinking this would really cheer up someone is the hospital.

What a neat idea. I am going to do this. I think this would make an awesome and different type of gift. How creative. BTW I love the graphics on your blog. Where do you gals come up with all this stuff. Whenever I need to do something to mine I have to ask Sandra (Diary of a Stay at home mom) and as sweet as she is she always helps me, but you'd think It might be about time I got my butt in gear and learned something. The computer intimidates me.

MAN! I've been trying for several days to leave a comment! I think it was a problem with my server at work...

Loved your idea! This would look cute in a cellophane bag with a big bow, or even in a simple homemade fabric bag! Cute, cute, cute!

Thanks for participating in the Christmas Gift Idea Exchange!
