Thank You, Thank You Very Much

This blogging world is amazing. Your responses to my actually blogging and not just commenting has overwhelmed me. Thank you all.

Yesterday our pastor's message was on "Not Running the Race Alone". In speaking of running this Christian race that believers are in, sometimes we can tend to run alone. Some of us have the tendency to so focus on the road before us that we don't make time for others to draw along side of us.

Jesus never meant for us to be loners. Even if in ministry, we should not be just in the frame of mind "to minister" and not have time to build relationships. We need others in the body of Christ to come run along side of us. I don't know about anybody else but I tend to stumble and sometimes outright fall down. And let me tell you, I am not a graceful faller! I need someone running with me to put out a steadying hand, to cheer me on, to tell me to keep going and sometimes to tell me that I turned down a wrong street that was not on the race map.

And not just in my Christian walk, but as a mom. And because I am a child care provider, I tend to hole myself up at home with not much adult communication. You know something is lost in translation when you say something 'profound' and 6 pairs of little eyes are staring at you and finally one lone voice will respond with: "Can I have more juice, please!"or the ever wise: "I need to go potty!"

I look at my pastor's message yesterday as a confirmation from the Lord, that I have found a good thing in blogworld. I have found a community of Christian ladies that I have drawn much encouragement from in the last 6 months. I have laughed with, cried with, related with and learned from the blogs that I have regularly read. And even though I have started this with much nervousness, I am so honored that you have all welcomed me so warmly.

I am not running this race alone!

Congratulations on starting a blog. I feel obligated to tell you that there is an adictive element to blogging. Beware.

Believe it or not, I'm a pretty good speller. That should be "addictive"

antique mommy: Thanks for the welcome. Ya, I gathered that & that was beloved hubby's concern. I'm only going allow myself certain times to turn on the computer. And I'm glad you forewarned me.

AM never would have made it to the first round with that one!

But she is absolutely right about it being addictive. So good to see you here and blogging the world by storm.

(And yes I reread every word to make sure it was spelled correctly after that dig at AM!)

By the way,I'm sorry my post about you didn't go up until today. I took Friday off and the computer at home died a terrible death. So Monday it had to be.

Great post! As Christian brothers and sisters we are to support each other. My problem is that I tend to start looking at the people around me and not at Christ though. We are to be a support system, but no Christian friendship should ever replace that relationship with God. We should focus on Christ, because like you said, humans are going to fall! Great thoughts, Susanne!

Exactly, Heather. We are to look to Christ and rely on Him but be there to help & support each other along the road.

Shalee: Glad to see you made it back safe & sound.
